After the update to Enfold version 4.8.6.2 background images of content sections are not displayed anymore. I checked every browser, deleted cache, etc.

August 28, 2021 at 4:54 am #1318739Hi byallmeans,
Thanks for that. I cleared the cache from your caching plugins, then check the front page, and the background image looks to be working in the second section on the page. Could you verify that on your end please?

If you need further help, then please open a new thread and include WordPress admin login details in private, so that we can have a closer look at your site.

September 1, 2021 at 4:14 am #1319264Hi byallmeans,
Sorry for the late reply. Please check the screenshot in private for what I’m seeing on my end. The background image is working in the first section on your home page. If you are not seeing those results on your end, then please try loading the site in an incognito or private browser window. If this section is not what you are having problems with, then please let us know where to look in order to reproduce the problem you are seeing on your end.

Thanks for the update. I checked the tracks page, and I saw that you were getting jQuery errors on the page, coming from the Better WordPress Minify plugin. The background images work as they should when I deactivate the plugin, I left it deactivated for now. Please try reaching out to the plugin developer for further support, or try using an alternative plugin, to see if you have better luck with that.

We can’t be responsible for problems caused by third party plugins, but I’m guessing that the problem is due to caching/minification on your site. Try clearing all caches and minification, and deactivate the plugins. Then you can activate them back one by one to see when the problems start. Also try deactivating file compression under Enfold->Performance.

I understand that, but it’s working without the plugin, right? If we should have to be accountable for the thousands of plugins which are available in the WordPress eco system, then it wouldn’t be possible to develop a WordPress theme, since testing would take forever. Also, why would you need a minify plugin, when there is functionality for that in the theme, and in caching plugins?

RikardSeptember 10, 2021 at 9:08 am #1320351No, Enfold is the problem. One should be able to activate minification (with a widely used plugin ór the inbuild compression under Enfold->Performance).
The background images disappear the moment you activate compression under Enfold->Performance. So something is not working in Enfold.- This reply was modified 3 years, 2 months ago by byallmeans.
September 12, 2021 at 5:22 am #1320550Hi,
I activated file compression in the theme, and your background images are showing fine after that. Please review your site.

RikardSeptember 13, 2021 at 10:51 am #1320695I did as well, but then the background images disappeared again. Not sure why it’s working now.
September 14, 2021 at 6:14 am #1320836Hi,
Thanks for the update. I can’t reproduce the problem you are describing on my end though, the background image on the page in private is displaying fine in both regular and incognito browser windows, and file compression is still active. Could you try checking in a different browser, or try a private/incognito browser window please?
Best regards,
Rikard -
