Avia Visual Layout stuck on load for homepage with large amount of content

Ahoi Enfold Team,

We are using your lovely theme on the following site: http://therapie-ritter.de/ and are running to an intermittent issue with the Avia Visual Editor not loading the homepage content in edit mode. The issue seems to be related to the amount of content, as when we test with the Impressum page the content consistently loads.

We have done a number of things by way of troubleshooting, including de-activating all plugins. Often after de-activating the plugins the home page content WILL load in edit mode, and continue to do some once the plugins have been activated.

Are there a set of minimum requirements that the hosting environment needs to fulfill? We are happy to provide a link to a phoinfo(); page upon request but here are the basic facts:

PHP Version 5.6.14
memory_limit: 256M
post_max_size: 8M
upload_max_filesize: 40M
mysql.connect_timeout: 60
default_socket_timeout: 60

In short the edit page loads, but the dynamic loading of the content seems to be stuck on ‘loading’ with the animated throbber doing it’s thing.
