    This is turning into a real disaster. I never know when the Editor will work. The problem seemed to go away when I deactivated Yoast SEO, but now I can’t open any pages once again. I have updated theme to 4.8.6. Could really use some help.

    Once again, it seems the problem is caused by weird plugin interference. I tried deactivating and activating groups of plugins until I found one that seemed to be the culprit. The strange thing is, the other day a different one was the culprit. So there remains some kind of underlying problem, perhaps related to simply having too many plugins operating at once? In any event, the emergency is over for now. It is stressful to not know whether the editor is going to open the page!

    Spreadsheet Integration is the one I had to turn off. I’m not sure that I trust this will be the end of the problem, but it’s working so far. And Yoast SEO is activated, the one I thought was causing the problem is now activated.
