Hi there,
I currently have WordPress 5.0.3 with a Child theme of Enfold 4.5.2 and php7.0. I haven’t updated to the latest Enfold 4.5.3 theme yet.
I’m trying to create a very simple additional page entitled Events on my website. I’ve just spent the whole afternoon trying to resolve problems of when I create the layout using the Avia Layout Builder. I create the content boxes but when I come to update the changes I’ve made, it reverts back to previous versions and empty content. I’ve got as far as I have by flicking between the default Builder ( I have the Classic Editior plugin enabled) and cutting and pasting coding. I still can’t seem to get the background header image sorted.
Please can you take a look at see if you can offer me advice on this one so I can use the layout builder with no issues.
Login details and page reference below in the private Content box.
Thanks,

I tried to create a test page and it is working fine. I was able to edit and save without any issue.
Can you please elaborate on the exact steps on how to re-produce the issue?Best regards,
VinayFebruary 1, 2019 at 10:39 am #1061450Hi Vinay,
Please take a look at my privately published Events page. The URL is in the private Data section below. I have a content block with background image and title as well as a couple of content blocks below this. If you look at the backend, you’ll see the coding. (I’ve given you access to this in the previous message Private Data section). When you look at the page, there is no image or title in the top content block. I’ve tried clearing caches on browsers and my server cache and still no luck. This took all day to get to this point when it should have taken about 20 minutes. I had no problem creating content in the past! When you create using Avia Layout Builder and update changes, sometimes it saves them and sometimes it doesn’t. Reading some of the threads since the change to WordPress 5.0, this has been an issue for others too.I really need this quick little page up and running asap and it’s driving me nuts.

Thanks for the clarification. What happens if you select to use the Classic Editor as your editor on the main page of the theme options?
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 4, 2019 at 3:42 pm #1062721Hi Rickard,
It makes no difference at all sadly! :-(
This is getting so frustrating as basically I cannot create any new pages for my website with the set up that I currently have. All I want is the main image in the content block with title Events to be full width and with no padding. I’ve got exactly the same set up on mutliple other pages.
Each time I try and make the alterations, i flush the cache on both my server and on my browser. I’ve got the Classic Editor plugin added and activated which was recommended to deal with the new WordPress 5.0 upgrade. I’ve tried with that deactivated as well as activiated just in case.
February 5, 2019 at 9:06 am #1063069Hi,
Thanks for the update, I think it might be because of the special characters in your content:
'ROCK UP and RIDE'
What happens if you remove the single quotes?
Best regards,

It still has exactly the same issues with the top content box full width image!Kesdeg
February 6, 2019 at 8:28 am #1063508Hi Kesdeg,
Sorry but I don’t understand what you mean by your last post, could you explain a bit further please? Also, did you try to remove the single quotes as I suggested?
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 6, 2019 at 1:54 pm #1063618Hi Rikard,
Sorry if I’m not making myself clear. I’ll have another go.
Yes, I did remove the single quotes and it makes no difference.
I’ve cobbled together a page after about 126 revisions over the last few days but it still right!!
I simply want the page to have a full width image below the header with no padding like the link I’ve added below in the private content.
Can you also please clarify on the many different layout builder names:
On the backend, when you select a page to edit. I see Advanced Layout Editor (which i presume is the the Avia Layout Builder) and you can toggle to the Default Editor (which is the Classic Editor).
I have the Classic Editor plugin v1.4 that was recommended to be used by your team.
On the main page of the Theme Options, there are two options. The block Editor (is this the Advance Layout Editor? I’m presuming so) and the WP Classic Editor. It says alongside that “Choose if you want to enable and use the built in classic editor – no plugin is needed.”
I have tried to select the WP Classic Editor here and keep the Classic Editor plug in on as well as deactivate the Classic Editor Plugin. Neither option allows me to save my changes first time. It still also doesn’t allow me to replicate the layout of my other pages.
February 11, 2019 at 4:58 am #1065273Hi,
Thanks for the update.
I tried to save the elements as template so that I can test it on another page but even that is not working. It seems like your database is frozen or cached. Please contact your hosting provider for additional details and try to deactivate every plugins during testing.
Best regards,
IsmaelFebruary 16, 2019 at 5:17 pm #1067723Just to give you an update Ismael. I contacted my hosting provider and no issues with the cache.
I’ve just done the Enfold update to 4.5.4 and created a totally new page for this one. I’m now able to use the advanced layout builder and save changes with no problem.
I’m still mystified as to why I couldn’t get the previous page to save correctly but fingers crossed, shouldn’t have any further issues on this one.
Thank you, you can now close off this thread.
