    Hi!

I’m trying to edit a few pages on wordpress with the Enfold theme and certain pages aren’t loading up the layout builder. They just keep giving me the spinning wheel forever. I don’t know how to add code to things, I’m just trying to make the site look good. For days I’ve been researching how to fix it and I have tried mostly everything without going through and touching the code. Uninstalled plugins, tried activating different themes and changing content, etc.

I’d really appreciate anyone’s help with this!

    Hi,

I’m having the same issue. Some of my pages built with the Avia Layout Builder open just fine and others just get the spinning wheel forever. This occurred with WordPress 4.4.2 and no plugins activated and is now occurring with WordPress 4.5.2 and no plugins installed. I have cleared the caches and used three different browsers (Chrome, Safari, and Edge) on two different machines (PC and Mac) all of which get the same result.

The webpages themselves appear to be just fine and function. My issue is that some of them need to be updated and so I need to be able to access them. The raw data for the webpages also appears to be fine in my website’s associated database.

One difference for me is that this issue started after I migrated from shared hosting to a virtual private host. I’m not sure if that makes a difference.

My website, login credentials, FTP credentials, etc. are in the Private Content section for the moderators.

I greatly appreciate your support for this item. Enjoy the day!

    All the Best,
    Nathan

Same behavior on my side… Some pages can be opened some not and the wheel spins for ever…
Frontend page can’t be displayed in all browsers the way it should. (header with nav is loading, rest is not displayed)

I read the topic of troubleshooting since the WP-update 4.5, I also put the temporary fix into the funktion.php to check out if it could be one of the plugins, but its still the same! No idea what it could be.

Please help us on that problem, dear Kriesi Team, Thank you very much!
    Regards,
    Schmiddy

P.S.: Link and FTP credentials are in the private content field

    Hi,

Thank you for using Enfold and we are very sorry for the delay.

    @wgnolte
: Please follow the instructions provided in this sticky thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/having-problems-after-updating-to-wordpress-4-5-please-read-this-first/

    @StrategyDriven
: We are getting this recurring error in the console even if we’re not in the advance layout builder.

WebSocket connection to 'wss://public-api.wordpress.com/pinghub/wpcom/me/newest-note-data' failed: Error during WebSocket handshake: Unexpected response code: 403

There are tons of plugins installed and one of those might be the cause of the issue. Please deactivate all plugins then test the ALB again.

    @Schmiddy
: Have you tried to disable the Firewall of the WordFence plugin?

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    #629926

    Hi Ismael

Yes, thats what I’ve done first, but somehow it didn’t work. After that I completely deactivated the WF plugin… then it worked.
Thankx anyway for your input and suggestion.

    Best Regards,
    Schmiddy

    Hey!

Glad it is working fine now. We will keep the thread open to hear from the OP. Feel free to start a new thread if you have any other questions or issues

    Hi Ismael,

Thank you for the response. I have tried everything on that list before I posted the discussion and still no luck. I’m also not sure how to add code to the php file, I’m not a developer I’m just trying to design a working site for my business using wordpress online.

Is there anything else I can possibly do to fix the issue?

    Thank you for your help!

    #629987

    Hi,

In order to add the fix, go to the Appearance > Editor panel then look for the function.php file, not function-enfold.php. Copy the code from the sticky thread above then update the file, that’s it. We would like to add the code but the Appearance > Editor panel is missing in the dashboard.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

It doesn’t appear to be there for me either…The only things listed from what I can see is Themes, Customize, Widgets, and Menus. Do you know how to go about updating the toolbar to include the editor? I apologize I’m not very knowledgeable about this!

Thank you for your continued help. screenshot

    #630009

    Hi Ismael,

Thank you for the thread. I too am using WordFence and put the Firewall into learning mode from active and cleared my caches. That immediately resolved my issue.

I greatly appreciate your help and support!

    Enjoy the day!

    All the Best,
    Nathan

    Hi,

Can anyone please help with this issue? I really need to get this site completed for a prospective client and I’m tempted to just redo everything in a different theme even though I paid for this one. I’d really appreciate anyone’s help!

I’ve tried everything listed above and in the sticky thread besides adding code because I don’t seem to have an editor in my toolbar.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

    @wgnolte
: Do you have the FTP or cpanel login details with you? Please post it in the private content field. We’ll add it for you.

    @StrategyDriven
: Glad it worked. If you have the time, please open this issue in the WordFence support forum.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

Ismael, I posted it in the private section. Please let me know if this doesn’t work. Thank you very much for your help!

    Hi,

I’ve got a similar problem on Enfold 3.5.4, WordPress 4.5.2.

I’ve tried disabling all plugins, including WordFence. Have added the functions.php script. Have switched back to a default theme. And tried other ideas listed on the forum.

Seems to be happening to a lot of people.

Can you please have a look for me.

    #632032

Same issue here, also when switching back to the standard editor it is not working (the default editor of WordPress).
Switchting to another theme and the WP editor works.

    #632072

i found that smush.it plugin was the cause of my conflict with avia layout builder not loading

    #632419

    Ismael,

Have you had a chance to take a look at what may be wrong? I hope the credentials provided worked…

    Thank you!

: I’m sorry but the ftp details aren’t working. Please check and provide the full admin details including the ftp url.

    Hello Ismael,

Have you made any progress on this??

My site is still down and all ideas from Enfold support seem to have evaporated?

    #636484

    Hi,

Please try following the steps listed here: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/my-enfold-layout-builder-is-not-loading-properly/

    Regards,
    Rikard

    #785615

I have had lots of troubles with the Avia Layout Builder as well.

There doesn’t seem to be a specific thing which triggers the inability to load the builder.

Please see Private Content for more info.

    Hi,

    @lauritschristensen
Can you please firstly update Enfold to the latest version 4.0.5 – kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/?
If that does not help, please start a new thread under Enfold sub forum and attach WP admin and FTP logins there privately. When you post them here, they are visible to creator of this thread as well (i edited your post and remove them)

    Best regards,
    Yigit

    #785892

    Oh thanks for that Yigit.

I have added my Themeforest credentials, but it says I’m running the latest version (4.0.1)

Will this be updated soon, or do I have to do it manually?

    Thanks.

    #785899

    Hi,

Please try this plugin to clear WordPress transients if you do not receive auto updates and make sure your API key is correct: https://wordpress.org/plugins/artiss-transient-cleaner/.

If it does not help, I am afraid you might need to update the theme manually – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/

Unfortunately not all Server environments are able to make use of the auto update feature provided by ThemeForest :/

    Best regards,
    Yigit

    Hi,

My layout was also with the same eternal loading sign, and since I don’t have the WordFence plugin, I thought that the solution could be just by copy pasting the code Ismael posted above on the functions.php file and it would be solved.
But now, the website has just crashed and I can’t even access it through the regular WordPress login form! How should I proceed?

    Thanks!

Ok. Solved it. Website is back up again, but the eternal loading on the avia layout editor is still there!

    Any help on this matter?

    #856966

    Hi organicoder,

Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look?

    Best regards,

    Here you go! :)

    #857329

    Hi,

Thanks for the login details. First off, could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.1.2) to see if that helps please? http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    #857698

    Hi Rikard,

Thanks for noticing that! For some reason, the update didn’t show up automatically as it used to in the past.
I’ve updated the theme, but I still get the same problem with the eternal loading, whenever I’m editing a page.

P.s.: I’m using an iOs system and accessing through Chrome (also tried with Safari) and I’ve noticed that a colleague of mine who’s working with a Windows 10 has been able to make edits on pages while I can’t… Could it have anything to do with this?
