Avia Layout Builder not showing previews; can't edit existing page content

Hi, I’m a newbie with wordpress and themes in general. I had a website built using Enfold and it was working great, I was able to make changes and edit things with Avia Layout Builder without issue. Since I didn’t really know what I was doing I hired a company to customize the site for me as well. The last change they made was around 8 months ago and the site has been working fine (though I have not tried to make any changes myself since they worked on it).

At some point Avia Layout Builder has totally broken and no longer works correctly. I was on Enfold 4.2 and the layout builder would show a “Classic” box full of a bunch of markup code instead of the page elements. Making any changes to this code would work when I tried the preview, but actually updating the page and publishing it would not show the changes. Further, when I made any updates the actual code would displayed in the box would be altered – html markup being inserted in place of spaces and other characters. I ended up having to restore the database from a backup because it broke things so badly.

I do not know if this is because of the changes the company I hired made to the site, and I don’t know how I would go about finding this out. I was not happy with their work so I would prefer not to contact them to ask about it.

I updated to Enfold 4.5.7 (the latest release), and it seems a bit better as there is no classic box full of code in the editor now – but there are still tons of missing page elements and I’m hesitant to try editing anything because of that.

Is someone able to look at my site or have any idea what is going on? I would just like to be able to make changes to my site myself and right now I am unable to do that because of the editor being broken.

Edit: Updating the theme does seem to have helped – I can make changes using the editor and they are successful. The previews still don’t display like I expect but I think that is due to the changes the company made to my site. In any case everything is working to my satisfaction. Thank you for your wonderful themes.
