Hello,
I have just migrated my site from localhost to a server, everything was working OK on localhost but after moving it to the server when I try to edit certain pages the avia layout builder gets stuck on a spinning circle and does not loads the page in editor.
This is only happening with certain pages, some work OK while others don’t (stuck on spinning circle).
Running the latest version of WP and Enfold theme.
What I have tried so far:
– deleted cache from browser
– tried in different browsers
– disabled all plugins
– re-uploaded enfold theme
– increased WP_MEMORY_LIMIT to 250 in wp-config
– deleted site and db and re-imported/uploaded everything.Unfortunately none of the above helped, I still get the spinning circle when trying to edit certain pages. On localhost the editor works fine.
Can you please help me to solve this? Thank you!
November 9, 2017 at 12:31 pm #874616Had the same issue here yesterday:
I deleted the Enfold by FTP and installed the theme again.
Followed by a hard browser refresh, it worked again.- This reply was modified 7 years, 1 month ago by boehm.media.
November 9, 2017 at 12:37 pm #874618already done that, no change… some of the pages can be edited while some get stuck with circle…
I’ll give it another try and re-upload enfold – will updated once finished.

November 10, 2017 at 12:24 am #874910Hi,
Sorry but we only login to sites that are publicly accessible.
If issue occurs on certain pages, i think it is related to content of those pages. Do you have any custom code on those pages including HTML?
Please enable debug mode by adding the code provided in this link to your functions.php file which can be accessed from Appearance > Editor http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/enable-advanced-layout-builder-debug/
This lets you view the shortcode for all the page elements and you can edit/remove your custom code from those pages.
Best regards,
YigitNovember 22, 2017 at 3:07 am #879982I am having the same issue and have found that the problem may be related to certain content; in my case, parentheses/brackets. I tested pasting in the content of a single page that was giving me the same error as the OP – watching to see when the “Element preview” would fail to load (which appears to be a good indicator of when a page is going to fail to load the builder the next time the page is updated or published) – and found that it was when a text block contained many pieces of text within parentheses (in my case, three instances of parentheses in the text block) that the block would fail to preview and the page would fail to load the page builder as soon as the page was updated/published.
There seems to be some problem that leads to the the page builder failing to load when it encounters certain content, which is why it only occurs on certain pages (another site I built in Enfold has this same behaviour on a page that uses a code block to embed an iframe for a Google Calendar). It seems somewhat finicky as to what content causes it to fail to load.
edit: Here’s how unpredictable this can be: I re-wrote my client’s content to avoid the parentheses I mentioned above. SO, I move to the last of the text that has to be inserted – lo and behold the text fails to preview and does not include three sets of parentheses like the text that caused the issue higher up on the page. I am still trying to discover what characters are causing the issue (I am pasting this text all as straight text and formatting it in the editor, by the way – no strange characters or formatting.)
edit2: this time, it was an apostrophe in my client’s write-up that caused the problem.
edit 3: My conclusion, and I hope others find it helpful – check your content for any characters the system might be misinterpreting or failing on.
To the devs @ Kriesi – you may wish to look to see if there are any characters the page builder SHOULD be interpreting correctly but is failing on (the problem I ran into with a text block having three pieces of text in parentheses and causing the entire builder to fail , in my opinion, should not be intended/accepted behavior!)- This reply was modified 7 years, 1 month ago by electris. Thank you for sharing!
Glad you got it working for you! :)
If you need further assistance please let us know.

VictoriaNovember 23, 2017 at 12:35 pm #880680I had the same issue earlier this week => it IS NOT an isolated incident. There has to be a bug in the translation of certain content by the editor. Your occurred with parentheses, mine was quote marks within a link for a YouTube video embed -something which is quite simple. I ended up having to use a plugin to create a video embed that would work within that page.
Stranger yet, exactly the same video embed link worked just fine on a sister site I just build two weeks before. So it must be relative to other content on the page as well.
This really should be looked at => IT IS A BUG
November 25, 2017 at 6:48 am #881492Hi crtdude,
There is a problem introduced with WordPress 4.9 which can cause the builder to break, I’m not sure if that is the case with your site though, we would have to login in to have a closer look. Please post admin login details in private.
Best regards,
RikardNovember 25, 2017 at 8:57 am #881532I have not updated the site to WP 4.9 because of reported problems from some folks, so in my case (both sites I reported about) WP 4.9 is not the issue.
November 25, 2017 at 11:39 am #881558Thanks for acknowledging the issue Rikard. I am good for now. If something goes awry, I’ll touch base but there is nothing odd about the install I have or the content placed. I’ll wait to see what your experts come up with to fix it.
November 25, 2017 at 3:13 pm #881635The problems looks related to ENFOLD theme. After moving the site between local installation and through several different hosting companies and servers, it finally worked without changing anything in the page.
The support was pretty much useless in this case. I’ve provided logins but I got replied they only login on LIVE sites, well I can’t afford to put a non-working site live… Anyway lesson learned the hard way, will just use a different theme in the future.
Please close the thread.
