There have been a million threads with the same topic. And I’ve read every single one of them, and tried every possible suggestion, without any solution.
My scenario: I have a multisite installation, with each of the five sites having a child theme. There are various plugins in use across the sites, some of which are network activated, and others that are activated only for specific sites. Running WordPress 4.2.2 and Enfold 3.0.5. The problem also occurred after a previous WordPress and/or Enfold theme upgrade, so we had to revert the site and perform the process again.
What specifically has been tried: disabling/deleting all plugins, upgrading Enfold via automatic and manual methods in WordPress as well as FTP, various php.ini and .htaccess adjustments, WordPress files being overwritten with a fresh copy, cloning the site to a new location, hard refresh, clearing browser cache/history/cookies, new user accounts, and more. I’ve spent about 10 hours trying to solve it so far.
A side issue is that upgrading Enfold to the latest version also manages to reset various footer widgets and other content on some of the sites, but not all. I’m not sure how/why this could happen, especially since we’re using child themes. We are using the custom.css file in the parent theme /enfold/css folder, but that’s been backed up and carefully restored manually just to be safe. It’s bizarre.
June 10, 2015 at 1:58 pm #457201Hi Grant!
Can you please create a testing environment and update Enfold to 3.2 – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/ on it so we can test it? Hard refresh solved the issue for all users who had the same issue, i am not sure why it did not help in your case.
Best regards,

Sorry to hassle you, but this is a critical issue on a website which will be going “live” next week, and we have some content edits to make urgently. Are you able to take a look into it today please?
June 15, 2015 at 1:08 am #459053Are you able to take a look at this for me please? It’s been nearly a week since your reply. I know you’re busy, and I realise this issue may be due to our particular site setup, however I am happy to pay for support if it means a fast resolution.
June 15, 2015 at 10:15 pm #459724Hi!
Sorry for the late reply!
Culprit is this plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/sxss-shortcode-creator/
Advanced Layout Builder works and functions fine when it is deactivated. Please deactivate or contact plugin author.Cheers!
YigitJune 16, 2015 at 8:37 am #459885Thanks! I had deactivated that several times previously with no effect, but we’ve since removed other plugins so perhaps together there was no issue. Or perhaps it was after I made that plugin a network activation instead of at the site level. Anyway, thanks so much for your help!
