Issue:
I want to use the “Avia layout builder > Content element > Masonry …”
but,
I want the resulting thumbnails to link to the Lightbox* function (a large version of the picture instead of a Portfolio post by Category or by Tag.)Is there a way to do this? Perhaps assigning a “Portfolio Category” to an image rather than to a post?
I do have a plugin that allows me to add Tags to images, if that helps.
Guys, I love the Enfold theme and have been using it as a child theme very successfully, and have found 99% of the answers to all my questions on this forum. Thank you!
I hope my issue too can be answered here ;)
PS. I need to use the Masonry Content element, instead of the Masonry Gallery Media element, because I need the functions found of the first of those 2.
*as found in “Avia layout builder > Media element > Masonry Gallery” > “Lightbox linking active”)

FYI, I’ve tried several permutations of this option using plugins without any success :(
February 29, 2016 at 6:05 pm #590996I realize I posted my question on a friday and probably no one reads the posts over the weekend, but can someone please help me with this now?

March 1, 2016 at 1:46 am #591275Please excuse the shameless bump, but I don’t know how to get your attention. I see all other threads are being addressed but i am being totally ignored.
Maybe I just the question of the biggest noob of them all, but I need help, please!

March 2, 2016 at 5:20 am #591874Hi,
Replying to or bumping your own thread will send it to the back of our support queue, please try not to do so unless you think it’s absolutely necessary. Could you provide us with a link to the site in question so that we can take a closer look please?
Thanks,
RikardMarch 2, 2016 at 5:56 pm #592227Hi Rikard. Sorry about the bumping. I wasn’t familiar with the rule.
The site is still under development, but you can see a sample page here: http://dev.mediabox.ca/sandbox/
PS. I am loving this theme!
PS2. The page used to have a password… I just made it Public.- This reply was modified 8 years, 8 months ago by GabrielSenn. Reason: Linked page used to have a password. Corrected and updated on post
March 5, 2016 at 4:23 am #593614Hey!
please use the “Avia layout builder > Content element > Portfolio grid
Portfolio grid has the option to display portfolio items to be displayed as lightbox images. none other :)
Cheers!
Vinay KashyapMarch 5, 2016 at 6:01 pm #593763Thank you Vinnie.
I knew that, but, it isn’t anywhere near as elegant and the Masonry doesn’t work properly (thumbs don’t fit neatly into each other)
I like it to look like: http://dev.mediabox.ca/portfolio-sample-c/ and not (using your recommendation) like: http://dev.mediabox.ca/portfolio-sample-b/
Can it be done?
March 8, 2016 at 9:31 am #594884Hey!
Edit the portfolio items then set the Overwrite Portfolio Link setting to manual. Add the url of the image. The masonry element will then open the image in a lightbox instead of opening the actual portfolio page.

That worked, but it took me a while to understand, so I would like to share here how I did it in case anyone else looks at this thread in the future:
1. Create a Portfolio post for each item you want in the Masonry;
2. In that post, insert the image you want in the Masonry thumbnail as the Feature Image for the said post;
3. Now, assign the Portfolio Category/ies you want to that Portfolio post (these are the categories you’ll be able to select in your Masonry when you are creating it and later previewing it);
4. Still in the Portfolio post, A) scroll down to Additional Portfolio Settings, B) select Overwrite Portfolio Link setting, and C) paste the URL of the image you want opening as Lightbox when you click the thumbnail in the Masonry, in Link portfolio item to external URL .What I really like about this approach, is that the thumbnail and the image that opens up on a Lightbox don’t even need to be the same image, which allows you to create a custom thumbnail, like a custom crop of the image that will open as you click the thumbnail.
Hope this will help others. If I made a mistake, please feel free to edit as required Ismael.
