Hi folks,
I already had this request in another post: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/landscape-images-in-avia-galery-out-of-proportion/ and thought I had the problem solved – because it disappeared when I recreated the gallery..
Now the same issue is reappearing. I have deleted and recreated the gallery about three times with the following settings:
– Großes Bild mit Thumbnail unterhalb (Big image with thumbnails underneath)
– Mansonry 705×705
– No, do not force the same size
– Squaree 180×180 (for Thumbnails)
– 6 Spalten (6 colums)
– use Lightbox: Yes
– Animate on loadStill the problem remains, that images are distorted.
Any idea?
Best regards,

it’s not happening on my installation. Are you using a caching plugin? or maybe your server is using any kind of caching? please contact your host and ask them about that.
You can provide us admin login and we’ll take a look if you still need help. Post login details here as private reply.Best regards,
AndyMay 4, 2015 at 4:57 pm #439077Hi Andy,
thanks for your reply. I had WP Super Cache installed but not running as the site is in test mode. My provider doesn’t use any caching. If I change the page it’s updated imediately.
I’ve created a login for you, see next private message.
What’s wierd is, that if I take a working portfolio and create a template out of it and change only the images to the ‘BOY’ images it’s not working anymore. Could it have somethig to do with the image sizes/proportions?

although cache plugin is not running it can still cache your website. So please go into your WP Super Cache settings, deactivate caching and then deactivate the whole plugin. Afterwards clear browser cache. Make sure to deactivate all other plugins as well while testing. Please update to Enfold 3.1.5.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
AndyJune 6, 2015 at 11:58 pm #455545Dear Andy,
thanks for all your advice. I was very busy and had no time to look into the thing again until just now. I now had a look again and the failure is reproducable while I have deleted the Caching plugin and cleared the browser cache. The problem disapears, when I change the order of the images. When I change the now second image to be the first it works, while when Iit is used as second image it doesn’t work and especially the then second image (which is wider) gets compressed…
I have updated to the latest version 3.2 and WP is updated as well.
Any ideas?

AljoschaJune 7, 2015 at 12:03 am #455548Just another thought – it seems that the problem occurs, when a portrait image is used as the first image. Changing the order, so the gallery starts with a landscape image solves the issue, as I have seen in multiple cases now.
June 8, 2015 at 7:13 pm #456296Hey!
yeah, your galleries look fine to me now. Glad you could fix the issue. Let us know in a new ticket in case you need some more help. We are happy to assist.
Best regards,
AndyJune 8, 2015 at 7:17 pm #456298Hy Andy,
yes I was able to ‘fix’ it – but that is rather a workaround and not a proper fix. As I should be able to start with a portrait picture as well. Maybe you can find a proper solution for one of the next versions so that the problem doesn’t occure when starting with the wrong image.

AljoschaJune 9, 2015 at 1:14 pm #456667Hey!
I can reproduce the issue on my own installation, so I reported it to Kriesi. Lets hope that he will find a fix for it soon. Thanks for making us aware and thanks for being patient!
Cheers!
AndyJuly 29, 2015 at 2:23 pm #480233Dear Andy,
thanks for taking on the topic and forwarding it to Kriesi. I’ve just now ran into another bit of this bug and wanted to share it with you guys.
This behaviour seems to appear whenever the gallery is not started with the widest image. So even when using several landscape format images it can still appear and distort other images in the large preview image. We are now working around this issue by giving all images per gallery the same aspect ratio – which is okay in our case but might not suit others.
Best,
Aljoscha -
