    Hi,

We are using the cookie consent modal window and find it works fine for Google Analytics. I have now tried using it for Hotjar using the function “additional custom cookie”. That all displays correctly in the modal window that the user sees on the frontend. But when I examine the cookies on Chrome, all the Hotjar cookies are still listed – as well as the aviaPrivacyCustomCookie_hjidDisabled cookie, which should disable them. Not sure how to interpret this – does that mean that Hotjar can´t really be disabled in this way or that the cookies are listed but somehow not active?

I have deactivated the Hotjar plugin until I´m sure that we have a safe solution – but I am sending a link to a screenshot of the cookie list in Chrome and of the custom cookie settings (the Hotjar plugin was activated at the time of the screenshots).

Thanks for you help & best regards,
    Sara

    Hey sarawh,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

The theme should be removing the custom cookie from the local storage when the custom privacy cookie toggle is disabled, or when the user chose not to accept the custom cookie, but based on the screenshots above, it is not working as expected.

Have you tried disabling the plugins temporarily just to rule out incompatibility issues?

    Best regards,
    Ismael
