Adding 'Order by' (like to Avia-masonry) to Avia Blog posts or Avia Post Slider

Is there anyway I can add the “order by” functionality of avia-masonry to avia-blog-posts or avia-post-slider?

If you visit http://www.knowledgequarter.london/latest-news/events-2/ you will see I have pulled some custom (Tribe calendar) event categories through into a page that has an Avia-Blog-Post inside. The feature is behaving in that it shows the date of the event rather than the published date of the post – which is great – but I just want to be able to change the order ie. nearest event first and furthest away last. Adding “order by” function to avia-blog-posts or avia-post-slider would allow me to do this without affecting other avia-blog-posts elsewhere on the site.
