Is it possible to have videos autoplay only when they appear in the viewport/when users scroll to that area on the page?
Currently there isn’t a setting to manage autoplay on a standard video placed from the layout builder. I also tried using the Easy Slider and setting it to autoplay, but it starts playing when the user is still at the top of the page. We need the video to activate when it’s visible on the page.
I’m fine using either the standard video shortcode or the easy slider shortcode; whichever we can make autoplay work once the user has scrolled down to the video.
Hi kristenangel!
That is currently not easily possible. Please feel free to request such feature here – https://kriesi.at/support/enfold-feature-requests/ or hire a freelance developer if you urgently need it

For anyone who sees this post – you can now set this by using LayerSlider WP’s autoplay video in viewport settings.

Hi – checking on this since several years have gone by since my initial question.
Wondering if we can add some sort of code ot get the Easy Slider video to autoplay only when showing in the viewport. I realize we can still use the LayerSlider, but their settings are complex and not easy for our clients to navigate. Would love for the simple Easy Slider wizard to have this functionality.
Thanks!
Hi,
The theme is using the waypoint script to trigger animations when the elements come into view. Maybe, you can utilize that script to auto play the video.
