I have received an email from Themeforest to download a new version of Enfold theme. But shouldn’t I be able to update the Enfold theme almost automatically via WordPress, so I don’t have to replace all the files myself directly on the server?
If yes to almost automatic update in WordPress, then I guess it is somewhere in WordPress under Theme Options – Theme Update? But the page does not open in WordPress, when I click on the navigation link.
In WordPress I can actually only open the Enfold Theme Options, but not any of the other Enfold navigation links.

Which Enfold version are you currently using?
If you have updated your theme recently there should be an update visible at the same place where all the updates are visible (submenu of the dashboard). Can you see a theme update there?
Best regards

In WordPress it says Enfold 4.5.1. No, I don’t see an update available.

Alright, I know that they changed how updates work before version 4.5.
Since you have version 4.5.1 installed, it should be working properly.Quite difficult to say what causes the issue in your case without having access to the website.
In WordPress I can actually only open the Enfold Theme Options, but not any of the other Enfold navigation links.
In this case you are very likely facing an issue with one of the plugins you have installed. I saw you already updated to WordPress 5.5 which is good. However, one of the plugins causes the issue that the other Enfold navigation links are not visible.
Is it possible to make a list of your installed plugins here?

August 18, 2020 at 9:02 pm #1238906Try to empty your browser cache. That solved the issue for me and the Enfold options are visible again.
In order to solve the update issue itself I would need access to your website if possible.August 18, 2020 at 9:22 pm #1238922Hi BirgitteAlstrom,
Well, the automatic update does not always work. Do you need our help with the update?
You can install the Envato Market plugin to see the update or do the update by updating the theme via FTP.

BirgitteAugust 20, 2020 at 6:34 am #1239447Hi Birgitte,
I see that you have not registered the theme and you haven’t added a token to the backend of the theme: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/. That is likely why you are not seeing the updates on the backend.
We can update for you, but then we need FTP login details as well. Please post them in private if you need help with the update.

Thanks for that. I created a new FTP account and logging in worked, I’m not seeing any files in the FTP client after logging in though. How do we configure the account so that we can access your actual site files? You might want to reach out to your hosting provider if you can’t do it yourself.

Logging into WordPress today – the Enfold options in WordPress are back again – for unknown reasons (but the Enfold theme version were not updated yet).
Therefore I was now able to access the Theme Update page again, so I could update the Envato private token as it seems like Envato has decided to deprecate its old API key, since I registred the first time. So my Envato private token is now validated again in WordPress, which now made it possible for me to update the Enfold theme version as usual via WordPress.
Everything is now up-to-date again, and you can close this topic. Thank you for your support.
Best regards,
