Hello at Kriesi,
is it possible to show the public name (the one in user profile which is shown at: “Nickname”) of an user in the URL of the author overview instead of the “Username”. So that in the url there is
http://xxxxx.org/author/nickname
instead of
http://xxxxx.org/author/usernameThat would be great!

I have tried it with the code from above which did not work for me. So I took the plugin Edit Author Slug (https://de.wordpress.org/plugins/edit-author-slug/ ) which did the job.Best Regards
