    I have this error

    [Thu Oct 25 14:44:39 2018] [error] [client 69.162.124.236:37036] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function apply_filters_deprecated() in /home/sites/3b/c/cdd51d6bea/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/php/class-framework-widgets.php on line 2572

    Any idea why this is happening?

    Hey codecreative,
    I don’t see a error on your site so I assume this is from your error log, I see that you are using PHP Version: 5.5.38, and version 5.6 is the recommended minimum, please update to v7
    Also I assume that you updated via FTP, Please note that if you updated via FTP, it is very important that you had removed the old theme folder “enfold” first then uploaded the new “enfold” folder at /wp-content/themes/enfold/
    Please don’t try to overwrite the theme folder, as this will leave old files behind and cause errors.

    If you had overwritten the theme folder, please try updating again and delete the old theme folder first.

    From reading through other forum posts I realised the solution was to ensure I updated the wordpress core first then the enfold parent theme.

    It seems the latest enfold theme requires the latest wordpress version to operate properly. That is not problem as I like to keep both updated but the order in which it is done matters.

    The solution for anyone reading this is to access your site files via cpanel or ftp and rename the enfold folder. Then your site will revert to using another theme like twenty twelve. Then you can access your site and update wordpress. Then rename the theme folder back to enfold.

    If updating the enfold theme also ensure to delete existing theme contents first or use envato plugin for safe update :)

    Hi,
    Thank you for sharing your solution, can I ask if you are still able to use PHP Version: 5.5.38, or did you also update it too?

    I have a site now and it won’t work with the latest enfold and it makes no difference what version of php i am using and i have the latest wordpress installed

    Finally version 7.2 php worked that was the only one I hadn’t tried

    Hi,
    If I understand correctly, the site you were have trouble with is solved by changing to PHP 7.2?
