Hi there – i’m having a strange but serious problem with an Enfold installation at Pagely.

as of today, we are not able to log into the backend (WP administrative area) of the site as long as Enfold is the active theme.

the site seems to run normally on the front end; all is well. but attempting to log into the backend produces:

    1. a “page not found” 404 page; and
    2. a logged-in WP admin bar at the top which, when you click on it, gives you the same 404 error

changing to 2015 or another stock theme allows you to log in fine.

i uploaded a fresh/new copy of 3.3.1 but the problem persists. Pagely support says:

I took a look at the dashboard via staging URL and I see the 404 error as well. Checking your domain’s PHP error logs, I see something is causing the PHP memory to max out:

[23-Aug-2015 21:23:09 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 9282121 bytes) in /wordpress/wp-includes/functions.php on line 384

It looks like your theme is causing the dashboard issues as the dashboard is responding when switching to another theme.

It looks like the theme was recently updated by the developer – can you confirm if this was an issue prior to 3.3.1?

I updated to 3.3.1 i think maybe Thursday-Friday and the site was behaving properly until today, when an employee attempted to log in and discovered the 404 issue.

definitely going to need your help with this one. I have asked Pagely to roll our Enfold install back to early last week, which I believe was 3.2.2 installation of Enfold. I’m hoping that gives us some respite from this issue, at least temporarily.

but i’d appreciate any / all insight you can provide into this. Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hi charger70!

Please try to increase the allocated memory to 512M: http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP
You can contact your service provider and they can do it for you.

    Cheers!
