Hi – my site runs on enfold. it was built by a company that I no longer have a relationship with. As I don’t have the API key, how can I arrange an update?

The editor is not responding, so updating is the first thing I’d like to try. I have version 3.7.1

    thanks,

    Hey Jo Pedder,

I’m afraid you will have to buy the license again, to be able to update. Which version of php are you running? Could be that the installation configuration should be upgraded.

    Best regards,
    Victoria

took me a while to work out how to find out, but I’m running 5.6.32. Do you think that this could be the issue?

    Hi!

You are using a very old version of the theme. Updating it to the latest version 4.2 should solve the issue – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/. As Victoria mentioned, you would need access to ThemeForest account that was used to purchase the theme to update the theme.

I hope that helps! Let us know if you have any other questions or issues!

    Best regards,

can I just check whether there is a cost to updating, or should I get updates automatically (just preparing myself so I don’t get charged by the designer for something that will just take a few clicks) thanks.

    Hey,

No, updates are free. You can update the theme with a single click in WordPress dashboard if you insert ThemeForest username and API key in Enfold theme options :)

    Best regards,
    Yigit
