Tagged: animated numbers, IE8, Internet Explorer 8
Hi team Enfold,
We are testing a website in Internet Explorer 8 and discovered that the animated numbers are not animating ;)
In fact, they are standing still at 0. (00 in case of 2 numbers).
Does the theme supports Internet Explorer 8? Or do you know a way to show the numbers without animation?
Thanks in advance!
Hi renekokabovo!
They should be working, http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/shortcodes/animated-number/.
Make sure your not in compatibility view and then deactivate all plugins to see if that helps. If it does not then send us a link and we’ll take a look.
Cheers!
Elliott
Hi Elliott,
Thanks for your reaction!
The browser is not in compatibility mode/view. When i look at the ‘animated numbers page’ you’ve send, those numbers aren’t animating as well.
I’ve enclosed an image.
Cheers!

Hey!
Hmm, I’m on IE11 and I’m using the developer tools to emulate IE8 and they appear to be working there. What operating system are you using? Javascript is enabled correct?
What happens when you re-install IE?

Elliott
Hi Elliott,
It’s an XP professional system. We use it to test websites in original IE8 ‘environment’ because we noticed that emulated IE8 doesn’t work properly ;) Javascript is enabled correct.
Unfortunately i’ve no permission rights to re-install IE. But do you think that’s the solution?
Cheers!
Marc
Hey!
It’s worth a try. Not sure what it could be. I would also viewing on a different computer if there is one available.
Best regards,
Elliott
Hey Marc!
Here’s a temporary workaround that may do the trick for you:
https://kriesi.at/support/topic/ie8-animated-number/#post-377207
It basically disables the animated numbers “animation” in IE8 and shows the final number.
