is it possible to animate text elements or other custom elements besides the images with pop up effects or fade in like the theme has on images?
Lets say some classes to put on some div elements to make the div content animate when on viewport?

We do not have any features for that yet but you can do it with CSS animations, http://www.w3schools.com/css/css3_animations.asp.
