    http://www.gravitygroms.com/gravity-groms-news-and-photos/

When you click on the items in the menu which are all linked with #anchors – the page reloads – and then navigates to the color section with the anchor id. It used to scroll smoothly without leaving the page. Also it now navigates to the color section – but there is around 100px or more above the color section which is not normal either for the anchor navigation.

    Same thing happens here: http://www.gravitygroms.com/#camps

When I go to Appearance and then Menu I can no longer edit the Custom Links that correlate to these pages. Clean install of current version and current version of wordpress…

    Hi ewingmh!

I’m not sure I understand what you mean, but it will only not load a new page if the section is located on the same page as the anchor. If the anchor is located on another page, the new page has to be loaded to be viewed.

So if you’re on http://www.gravitygroms.com/gravity-groms-news-and-photos/ and click any of the submenu items it should work the way you describe?

Also why is there the extra 100px or so at the top of the page when you click on any of the submenu items? The anchors are all using color sections with no extra space in them.

    Hi!

Yes, and it seems to be working when clicking the submenu anchors on your site.

About the space, do you mean the space between the section in question and the menu?

    Rikard

    screenshot
The space denoted by the red arrow when you click on the submenu link – normally it should scroll to the top of the color section that has the anchor tag.

I’m not seeing it work in Chrome – if you’re looking at the #photos page and then click on #videos or #newsfeed – the entire page reloads and doesn’t just scroll to the anchor.

    Hi!

The link or url is incorrect. It should be:

    http://www.gravitygroms.com/#camps

    Instead of:

    http://www.gravitygroms.com/gravity-groms-crested-butte-camp#camps

    Cheers!

    Hi!

Yes, the link should take you to http://www.gravitygroms.com/#camps section. Under the “Camps” menu, they all point in the same section except the 4th one. Why is that?

    Best regards,
    Ismael

I’m confused as to why you’re not reading my question – please forget about the camps – I’m asking you about the news and photos page:

    Hi!

This is the page that you set as the home page, right? http://www.gravitygroms.com/gravity-groms-crested-butte-camp

If you use that it will redirect to the home page, that’s why this url will not work:

    http://www.gravitygroms.com/gravity-groms-crested-butte-camp#camps

For the photo/videos pages, you need to use the actual url plus the anchor name:

    http://www.gravitygroms.com/gravity-groms-news-and-photos#videos

Regarding the top margin, that should not be happening by default. Did you add any modifications to the theme? Did you modify the header height?

    Cheers!

This doesn’t work still – If I’m on http://www.gravitygroms.com/gravity-groms-news-and-photos/ – and then click on either Photos or Videos – the page completely reloads – it doesn’t smoothly scroll down to the anchor – it completely refreshes and shows up… and it shows up with the extra spacing on top…

    #449814

    Hi!

Could you try to add the anchors with a trailing slash, like this: http://www.gravitygroms.com/gravity-groms-news-and-photos/#videos

    Regards,
    Rikard

    #449828

Thats how I had them when all of this started and then Ismael suggested I change them in his comments above. Regardless – neither way works. Feel free to use the login I gave you to play around with it.

    Hey!

You can’t change the url of the mega menu columns. You need to add an item inside the columns. Please do the same for the photos and video section links: http://www.gravitygroms.com/wp-admin/nav-menus.php

Check the new menu here: http://www.gravitygroms.com/

If you want the same styling for the mega menu items, use the Quick CSS field. The home and the camp menu are the same page(http://www.gravitygroms.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=11&action=edit). Was that intentional?

    Cheers!

Thanks for changing your original response to something more professional and helpful Ismael… so yes it was adding a dash for url and menu item for each column and then adding links below the columns that solved the anchor issue for anyone else that runs into this problem.

    The spacing was caused by this in my custom css: #header_meta .container { position: relative; top: 50px; }
    #header_meta { margin-top: -36px; } which I had added to fix an issue that was created by adding the <br> tag into the menu items – I changed that to be .html_header_top.html_header_topbar_active.html_header_sticky.html_bottom_nav_header #top #main { padding-top: 173px !important; }

Thanks again for your help guys.

Why is it that after posting to your forums the screen doesn’t refresh? You have to hard refresh to show the new post.

    Hey!

Yeah..Sorry about that. Anyway, glad you figured out the top margin issue. Regarding the forum bug, that’s something we’re still trying to fix. It’s quite random. Just refresh the page if you encounter it again.

    Ismael
