Trouble updating from 4.5.2 to 4.5.3. Receive this error:
An error occurred while updating Enfold: Download failed: ForbiddenToken is valid. I suppose I could just uninstall and reinstall the theme, seeing as I haven’t done much with this site yet, but that doesn’t tell me what went wrong here, and I’d rather know how to fix it should it happen in the future.
Among other things, I tried deactivating the child theme and updating the parent theme directly.
Thanks for your assistance.

It’s likely that your token doesn’t have the correct permissions, please try referring to this: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/#toggle-id-5

RikardFebruary 2, 2019 at 7:51 pm #1062047Hi Rikard,
Thanks for your reply. I was about to check the permissions as you suggested, but decided to try and update once more beforehand, and the update worked. I haven’t made any changes since last trying, so I don’t know what changed.

PeteFebruary 2, 2019 at 8:33 pm #1062060Hi Rikard,
Actually, it didn’t work completely. It said that the theme updated successfully, however, it still said there was an update available for Enfold. I checked my token permissions, they are correct. I was still getting “Enfold: Download failed: Forbidden”
It said there was an update for 4.5.3 to update from 4.5.3. I found this issue mentioned in another discussion on this forum. I tried installing the plugin Yigit suggested, however the plugin won’t run on WP 4.9 or higher (I tried). So, I found another plugin that does the same thing, “delete transients”, ran it, and it didn’t help.
Then I did as another user suggested, and went to Theme Options > Theme Update > Check Manually, and it cleared it.
Don’t know exactly what went wrong here, but thought I should let you guys know.

February 3, 2019 at 10:16 pm #1062411Hi
I’m having the same issue. I recreated my token and re-validated my registration. Still the update does not work.
I’m currently at v.4.5.2 so should not have to do this update manually right? Thanks
LyseFebruary 3, 2019 at 10:18 pm #1062412The following is the error detail:
An error occurred while updating Enfold: Download failed. Forbidden
Thanks

This error also occurs on more than one website.
Thanks
LyseFebruary 4, 2019 at 8:31 am #1062518Hi Pete,
Thanks for the feedback, the update worked as it should, correct? The notification problem is not really anything to worry about, and it should disappear within a few hours maybe. I understand that it can be a bit annoying, but it’s still nothing to worry about.
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 4, 2019 at 10:02 am #1062556I’m having issues too. I’ve verified the API Token, and it’s still not updating, even after several hours.
February 4, 2019 at 7:07 pm #1062793Hi Rikard,
Tried both updates this morning and all looks good, no error.
Thanks
LyseFebruary 5, 2019 at 6:30 am #1063022February 6, 2019 at 12:41 pm #1063584Hi Rikard. I have 20+ sites all running 4.5.2 and every one of them has a valid Envato Token. When trying to update to 4.5.3 every one of them also gives “An error occurred while updating Enfold: Download failed. Forbidden” message like the attached private content when trying to update:
February 7, 2019 at 4:20 am #1063800As a further update, the theme update is still failing for 20+ sites. However, I tried on two sites to update the theme by downloading the installable zip file from Envato and using Update Theme and Plugins from Zip plugin as recommended at an earlier date when Envato changed from API to Tokens. On both sites under Updates I am now seeing the following message:
Enfold
You have version 4.5.3 installed. Update to 4.5.3.Help please.
February 7, 2019 at 9:26 am #1063938Hi simulthink,
Did you make sure that your tokens have the correct permissions? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/#toggle-id-5
Best regards,
