Hi,
I have a website where the desktop main menu is set as sidebar.
For mobile I want to use a different menu, so I have selected an alternate menu in the theme settings.
But nothing has changed, the mobile menu is still the same as the desktop menu. It always uses the menu which is selected as main menu. The interesting thing:
If I change the main menu from sidebar to header, it is working as expected.
I tried to disable all plugins but it is still not working.January 18, 2019 at 5:21 pm #1055521Hey 18frames,
Can you give us a link to your site? so we can check further.
You can post the link in private content if you want the link to be seen only by moderators.Best regards,
NikkoJanuary 22, 2019 at 4:21 pm #1057278Actually the website is not online yet. Is there any other way that you could help?
Else I have to host the website online somewhere.January 22, 2019 at 8:04 pm #1057412Hi 18frames,
Here are the docs for you
Please get back to us when you get the website to some testing server we need to see the settings.

VictoriaJanuary 28, 2019 at 5:18 pm #1059688Finally I hosted the website on a test server.
Please find the credentials in the private content section.January 31, 2019 at 8:46 pm #1061147Hi,
Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.
- Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
- Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
- Click ” Create New “.
- Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( do be sure that we have enough time to debug ). - Click ” Submit “.
- You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.
When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create a admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.Best regards,
BasilisFebruary 1, 2019 at 4:38 am #1061342Hi,
Thank you for contacting us.
Please create an alternate menu from Dashboard > Appearance > Menu and set the menu item as an alternate menu from the Enfold options > Main menu > General > Alternate Menu for Mobile
If that does not fit your requirement you may have to do this manually. Please refer to this ticket for step by step instructions.

This is what I did…
Please create an alternate menu from Dashboard > Appearance > Menu and set the menu item as an alternate menu from the Enfold options > Main menu > General > Alternate Menu for Mobile
As I told you this is not working. I cannot use an alternate menu. If I select an alternate menu for mobile, it is always empty. I have to use the main menu to get any menu points.
My workaround for now is to use the main menu as the mobile menu. This works because the actual main menu is just a sidebar menu.
For the “official” main menu on desktop I set the display style to none with media queries for mobile. Since this is a very dirty solution I would appreciate a better one.February 3, 2019 at 4:03 pm #1062265Hi 18frames,
Can you please remove your workaround for now, so that we can see the issue on your end?
Best regards,
VictoriaFebruary 4, 2019 at 7:22 pm #1062801The workaround is not applied to the online version.
One more thing that is changing between topbar and sidebar menu: When switching to sidebar menu, the search button disappears from the mobile burger menu as well. The chekbox in the settings is still checked.
February 5, 2019 at 9:19 pm #1063326Hi 18frames,
Please deactivate all plugins one by one to check which one is causing this issue and let us know if this solves the problem.
Best regards,
VictoriaFebruary 7, 2019 at 1:54 pm #1064126Deactivating plugins has no effect on this problem.
