    Hi guys,

When I make a change in a page with ALB and save, the content except the header disappears. If I make another change to the header, everything disappears.

    I’ve tried the following solutions:

    1. Contacted my webhost and requested the php memory be 128mb My webhost says it is already 128mb so that was not the answer.
    2. I deactivated all the plugins one by one to see if that was causing the problem
    3. I cleaned the revisions and optimized the database
    4. I updated to the latest version of Enfold 3.4.3

    Nothing worked.

Also I noted that the debug mode has disappeard after the update. The php code is still there in my child theme. Removing it and putting it back did not help.

I’ve been trying to solve this problem for hours now and I am at my wits end. :(

Can you help me solve this urgent problem? I’ve added login and ftp details in Private Content.

    Sincerely,
    Morticka

    Hey Morticka,

I added a special heading at the bottom of your contact page and it displays just fine after saving, on what page are you having this problem and what exactly are you doing to get this error?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hey Rikard,

When I remove the code from the subheading in the header. When I save it, the rest disappears.

Link below in private content. But this happens on every page in the header.

    Sincerely,
    Morticka

    Hey Barb! :)

On Special Heading element, you accidentally did not close strong tag – http://i.imgur.com/SZji8bj.png. I did it for you, now making changes does not delete anything on your page.
    Please review your website.

    Best regards,

    Hi Yigit :),

Weird, because when I remove the strong code in another page in the special heading element in the header, the layout gets deleted again. So the problem is still there?

You can try it on different pages. The problem did not go away.

And even weirder, now all of a sudden the debug area is back. Something is definately not right here.

    Can you help me?

    Sincerely,
    Barb

    Hi!

There was another unclosed Strong tag on your example page – http://i.imgur.com/W69UgmB.png
    It should be as following

    <strong>
    Your text
    </strong>

You can post link to your pages where you have the same issue and we can fix them :)

Edit: Just checked out your screencast. Can you please try adding proper closing Strong tag in debugging console right below Advanced Layout Builder and then saving your page?

    Best regards,
    Yigit

    Hi Yigit,

I have a couple of unclosed strong tags in the special heading element on pages. But i want to remove the strong code in the subheading. And when I remove it, the layout disappears. When I close the tag, the layout disappears.

Did you see the vimeo screencast in private content #541861 ?

    Sincerely,
    Barb

    Hey Barb!

Seen it and edited my post but i was little late.
Can you please try fixing or removing Strong tag in debugging console right below Advanced Layout Builder and then saving your page?

    Best regards,
    Yigit

Yigit, I have never been so relieved in my life, it IS the strong code that’s conflicting with saving/layout!

Thank you, thank you, thank you so very much, I can finally breathe again!!! :D

    Sincerely,
    Barb

    Hey!

When HTML tags are not closed properly, they mess up the layout :)
You are welcome! Glad if we could help you breathe again Barb! :D

    Regards,
    Yigit
