    Hello,

I have a problem with the way the Ajax portfolio is displayed on android devices in both landscape and portrait modes. The middle part of the portfolio list is cropped so not all the excerpt is displayed and also the bottom of the portflio list is cut off so I can’t see any pagination.

    Thanks

    Andrew

    Hi,

Can you post the link to your website please?

Not sure if it helps but this has also just happened on a desktop. Well, not entirely the same but the Ajax list is cut off at the bottom. Refreshing the page reloads it correctly – not really an option for a visitor to the site though.

    Thanks

    Hey!

What version of android specifically is it and what browser is this happening with? Using both a stock Google Nexus device (both tablet and phone) I’m getting no issue. Even running the Chrome emulator isn’t showing any visible issue on the site.

    Cheers!

    Hello,

I have tried on 3 different devices, one is a BQ reader 7 with Android 4.1, one is an HTC phone with android 4.2 and one is a samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 with android 4.2. They all display the same behavior with the default browser. If it was just an issue with chrome on android I wouldn’t be so bothered but the default browser is by far the most popular.

As advised above, I also noticed it on a desktop browser with Chrome. I think (although I cannot be sure) it happens when there is a slider on the same page as the ajax portfolio.

I need to get it fixed because I cannot see pagination.

    Thanks

As of right now this is the only report we have of this issue. Without being able to reproduce it ourselves there is almost nothing we can do to try and offer a solution or bug fix.

What browser on your phone is it happening in if it is not Chrome? If its a generic “browser” then what carrier is this on as each carrier has a different sub standard browser with its own quirks and support.

    Hello Devin.

Thanks for the reply although I am disappointed with the reply. I have been waiting a couple of days for a reply to this issue and you ask me for information which is clearly explained in my previous post including model types and revision numbers. I can’t see that this is a problem with a specific device when it is happening on all 3 and all using the same browser and as advised, I have also noticed it on a desktop browser too using chrome.

    Thanks

    Andrew

Please read the above posts first.

I am trying top gather as much information as I can on this so have done some more testing. This is happening on all browsers, IE, FF and Chrome for desktop, exactly the same issues. I have tried turning the footer off, tried removing all plugins but the problem is still there. It has to be an issue with the Ajax portfolio because there is nothing else – browser or theme wise – that I can test.

    Hey!

I’ll tag the rest of the support crew and see if anyone else is able to view the issue. As I’ve mentioned I just don’t get the same error you have in your screenshots on any browser and with any testing method which I normally use in support.

    Thanks Devin,

Just to confirm, this happens for me on all browsers – desktop and tablet. Seems to be an issue (for me at least) when I set the portfolio grid to show more than 6 (3 by 2) items ‘with’ an ajax preview. When I use 12 in a grid and set the portfolio items to load in a new page it is ok (well, I haven’t extensively tested that yet).

    Thanks

It doesn’t look like any of the other support crew has had any issue but looking at your site again I have one idea on why it might be happening for you. Since the grid is displayed using the masonry script it doesn’t assign the positions of the items until they are loaded in. So if a user has a poor connection and scrolls down to quick or just has a slow render of the content there could be a point at which items aren’t loaded in fully.

Unfortunately there is no fix for that as far as I know since its the other side of the coin when using the isotope script. The content needs time to render so either having less items or smaller image sizes so there is less chance of that happening would be your best fix to make sure it doesn’t happen to others.

    Thanks Devin.

I am on a fairly fast internet connection (2mb) so was hoping that your description wouldn’t be the problem. However, when I turn Ajax off the portfolio page loads normally. I think you are right about the issue happening when I scroll down before the page is loaded, but, this is normal behavior when browsing a web page (very few people wait for it to fully load). So, I will have to turn ajax off which is a shame because it not only adds a nice animation to the portfolio but also I guess it adds more SEO weight because of the ajax description box etc.

    Thanks again for your help.
