After updating to WordPress 5.7 Enfold Theme was broken. I have imported a backup.

I received that success message after the update:
    https://laxs.de/owncloud/index.php/s/CMX8okOBoAHbQqN

But the website no longer worked correctly with the theme:
    https://laxs.de/owncloud/index.php/s/oF1gSA8Z2EdMiQy

The website actually looks like this:
    https://laxs.de/owncloud/index.php/s/Ow5myUOodYSs9mY

I need assistance, please. Unfortunately I cannot update to the current Enfold version.

    WordPress-Version 5.7
    Enfold Theme 4.7.6.4
    PHP-Version 7.4.16

    Hi fe1x,

Enfold 4.7.6.4 is not fully compatible with WordPress 5.7.
Please update to the latest version of Enfold (4.8.1) to fix this issue.
Make sure to have a backup first before updating.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

Hi Nikko, unfortunately that didn’t help. I get an Enfold success message after the update, but the theme is broken.

    Download the update from https://marketplace-downloads.customer.envatousercontent.com/files/327572056/enfold.zip?response-content-disposition=attachment%3B+filename%3Dthemeforest-hUYYNzJm-enfold-responsive-multipurpose-theme-wordpress-theme.zip&Expires=1616931593&Signature=Bwsc9p8Fgh8D4T4RknchO73C6gPxjxkLhVVJvO-iR1DbH9a7hRcE-G~xbjgI0NYotcm88vffZ4S1SHW-bJ0MWE93ogEAKBVWYSRzx7ztj-BdgnN8-xhMIVFOTrYPZIzkyibpii~tJkn1-nmwp1PZSlzY86tY58fuY4QDcUSBh-Zc3zWBPCAKurKu5jk3As4IuSABgKUiECCfBxim3qblGCYyrf-HQLwkGJd-FXHryddX481MUx0N~w9wvrI~ILsqXhqmOPA55Bh7UPt3V3bcKNZPgDreMMyA63adTlKs8wr5tfe3h5gQvN77D5gkyVq36lhMcpRiybQuO8DZkKY8-6Xyg29PWAKtXwyafEY2iAFXLNMXxk6jwVc9l~gQowfRF7BbjbVTGzmIpJaK3ySLjEe3yFaguNe2VTn7x5ZQIkRuNN5LMVVPJG4h2r7eRi8Nd8W1bOUDk~suBCue06K3ItVPxSFUrIHTJEE-6-EF1FewQNPn00RRa4nmZNaQoROgMRIzlVy7scyONAri7Rn5I8JToqm-P0YBv9K6~kOyWQwp14Sc8mJ1Cswd0HqfBs~ikOtytf3l5JgA2AQoasxnHmVWI2KdCMpYdzfNPUoHbxelhbZfUE359-yxFE0Ced9A38OzZGcx0FSdO8kqG2G~M6GCf0tnvMmGA1KXSwuwb6s_&Key-Pair-Id=APKAJRP2AVKNFZOM4BLQ…
    Unzip the updated version ...
The current version will be installed ...
The old version of the theme will be removed ...
The theme has been updated successfully.

    Hi fe1x,

Please disable the css and JavaScript merging and clear all caches and see if the issue gets resolved.

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    Thank you, Victoria,
I cannot find a plugin in which ‘css and JavaScript merging’ is activated. Unfortunately, I don’t work alone on the side. But I don’t think another employee wrote something himself. – I’ll clear the cache once. Maybe this helps.
I’ll get back to you shortly.

Unfortunately, clearing the cache did not help. I don’t know where ‘css and JavaScript merging’ should be activated. Whether it is activated at all.

    Hi fe1x,

You can find it in Enfold > Performance.

    Best regards,

Thank you for your hint. It seems to work. I disabled css / js merging. After the update, I reactivated the functions and everything apparently worked. However, on a staging site. I don’t dare to apply that to the company website after all the trouble. I had a day of work with it.

Thank you Victoria and Nicco for your help. Deactivating css/JavaScript merging and clear all caches has helped – also on the live website.
Does css / js merging now always have to be deactivated for updates?
happy is the one who always has a backup at hand ;)

    Hi fe1x,

    Agree :)

CSS/JS merging and compression are just temporary until caches expire.
If it’s not a caching plugin then there might be a built-in caching in the server, then try to flush it out.
Then try to enable it again.

    Best regards,
    Nikko
