After update to WP 5.4 we no longer see the custom fields in the Edit Portfolio Entry page. They are also not shown in the Screen Options. Values entered earlier are still shown on the web page, but they cannot be changed in the edit view of the portfolio entry. Any idea?
Custom fields still show in the page editor, but we do not use them there. Please provide a solution. We have our prices in custom fields.April 3, 2020 at 9:05 pm #1200625Hey milano24ore,
Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.
- Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
- Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
- Click ” Create New “.
- Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( to be sure that we have enough time to debug ). - Click ” Submit “.
- You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.
When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create an admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.Best regards,
NikkoApril 4, 2020 at 1:19 pm #1200791Hello, please change the existing code (register-portfolio.php, raw 42) with our new code that contains the custom field ‘supports’ => array(‘title’,’thumbnail’,’excerpt’,’editor’,’comments’, ‘revisions’,’custom-fields’ ),
Every time when Enfold makes an update we have to change this code by hand. Please make sure that your development department will change the code automatically with every new update.
Thank you and best regards OlafApril 4, 2020 at 5:12 pm #1200821Please inform the development team that this bug needs to be resolved in the next update of Enfold. It is not something we can fix in the child theme and it is not caused by customization on our end. The issue is that the developer forgot to include the custom fields in his thoughts. Custom fields is a standard feature. The patch was recommended about a year ago and was supposed to be merged into the next update of Enfold. Luckily, Olaf remembered now.
Kind regards
