Hello Enfold Team,
I have the problem that after a major update (V3 to V4) on a website now the AVIA Builder no longer works and also in the frontend some elements (slider etc.) are missing.
Above all, this created many script errors (according to Console). I can’t see any change even by disabling and re-enabling all plugins.
I am at a loss and need help here. Many thanks already.
Greetings

Please send us a temporary WordPress admin login and login URL so that we can have a closer look. You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply. Also please let us know where we can see the missing elements, and where you are seeing error messages.
Best regards,

Thanks for that, I’m seeing the same problems on my end unfortunately. This is not a general problem with the theme, so I’m guessing that something went wrong during the update. Could you share FTP login details with us as well, so that we can try to upload a fresh copy of the theme for you? Also please make sure that you have backup of the site, before we upload the new version.
Best regards,
RikardMay 22, 2021 at 8:09 am #1301736Hi Rikard,
thanks for your help. Yes, Enfold usually works great and I don’t think it’s a general problem either.
Thanks for the help.
Best regards
MichaelMay 24, 2021 at 6:36 am #1301912Hi Michael,
Thanks for that. I uploaded a fresh copy of the theme, but that made no difference unfortunately. This problem might be due to a plugin conflict, could you try disabling all plugins to see if that makes any difference please? We can try it out for you, if you give us permission to do so.
Best regards,
RikardMay 24, 2021 at 3:41 pm #1302036Hello Rikard,
I disabled all plugins but the error remained the same. I have activated all of them again. Maybe there is another solution?
Thanks a lot
best regards
MichaelMay 25, 2021 at 6:36 am #1302142Hi Michael,
I’m not sure what is going wrong unfortunately, so I’ve asked the rest of the team to have a look as well. The only thing I can think of which might be going wrong could be due to the PHP version you are running, could you upgrade it to PHP 7.4 or higher?
Please reply to this thread once you have read it, so that it gets added back to our support queue.
Best regards,

MichaelMay 27, 2021 at 6:09 pm #1302702Hello Rikard,
I don’t want to be impatient, but is there any new information here yet?
Thanks a lotJune 2, 2021 at 12:58 pm #1303579Hi,
I am sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately, we have not been able to find a solution yet.
It turned out to be a plugin conflict when users reported similar issue in the past so I tried de-activating all active plugins on your installation except for Wordfence however that did not help. The problem is, there are strange characters in your JS files. I attached a screenshot in private content field which was shared by @mike in our internal channel.
I am not sure if that is encoding related or some sort of a malware. Could you please check with your hosting provider and ask them if that could be server related?
Best regards,
YigitJune 2, 2021 at 1:37 pm #1303582Hello Yigit,
thanks for your help!
I will ask the hosting provider if it´s server related. But if not, what could be the plan to solve this problem?
THANK YOU very much!
MichaelJune 4, 2021 at 1:20 pm #1304021Hello Yigit,
the Hoster can´t monitor a problem and did not know what this strange characters generates…
Today we received an error. (See private content).
Whats next we can do? Thank you!
June 7, 2021 at 1:57 pm #1304413Hey,
Error you shared seems to be related to LayerSlider plugin so I went to Enfold theme options and de-activated it but unfortunately that did not change anything either.
Could you please disable if you are running server side cache and check with your hosting providers once again and ask them if there is some compression of PHP files on your server and if there is, ask them to disable it?
Best regards,
YigitJune 8, 2021 at 4:15 pm #1304691Hey Yigit,
this is what the hosting provider wrote and did:
Dear Mr. Beck,
the nginx caching was activated. But this must have been set by you or the account operator as it was configured. I have changed it.
Under the settings for Apache & nginx under the other configurations the Charset was changed:
override_charset on;
charset iso-8859-1;
There are also errors in the logs. I assume this is the reason for the problems. By default the server runs on UTF8.Is this helpful?
June 8, 2021 at 4:22 pm #1304695Hi,
Yes! I just tried editing your page and it loaded correctly :)
I believe charset was the issue. Could you please try editing your pages and confirm as well?
Best regards,
