After updating Enfold on several websites, I get a error 500. Now I have installed a backup. But my hosting can’t find any thing what might cause this error. All files are okay. And it did work well before the update. No problems with plugins. What could be the cause of this error?
I like to solve this before buying new licenses…..May 1, 2018 at 10:03 pm #949715Hey Els!
Have you tried removing wp-content/themes/enfold folder and re-uploading it via FTP? If not, could you please try to make sure all files are updated – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/ ?
Best regards,
YigitMay 1, 2018 at 10:41 pm #949722Hello Yigit, (nice name)
By FTP, just upload, without first deleting the files.
I’m always afraid to loos my content, and it used to go all right, until now. But not anymore.
Should I delete the older map with enfold and then complete the newer version?
May 1, 2018 at 10:44 pm #949723It would be so nice if there would be more information what exactly to do when updating an older version.
A new clean installation is no problem, but updating…..May 1, 2018 at 10:59 pm #949727Hi,
Thanks :)
Your content is saved on your database so deleting and re-uploading theme would not make any changes on your content. If you would like us to look into it, please post FTP and WP admin logins here privately.

YigitMay 1, 2018 at 11:23 pm #949739I’ll try your suggestion first: to delete the older version of Enfold and then install the new update.
And because of the new law on the privacy here in Europe, giving admin to others is a ‘bit’ of a problem. Some of my sites are medical, with very private information. So I hope I can fix it myself. I’ll keep you updated if it will all work out well, or not. Thanks so far.Best regards,
