Tagged: ratio
Hi,
I am using Enfold to setup a photography portfolio site. For this type of sites, it is important that photos keep their original aspect ratios (e..g 3:2, 4:3, 16:9) and are not cropped to other ratios. In most cases not more than 3 ratios are used in both landscape / portrait versions, so up to 6 fixed ratios are needed.
In most grids, masonry, galleries and sliders the photos are changed into for example squares, or are cut by the theme in a way which affects the original composition of the photo, this is not something I can use.
I found options in the function.php on the definition of images size … just wondering that if I tweak these in the aspect ratios I need if all still works fine layout wise with the components that use these images (like galleries, masonry, grids, etc). What is the best approach?
P.S. I noticed on disk that there more dimensions defined than in the function.php file, these must be internal WordPress formats?
What about those? These needs updates as well somehow.
Cheers,
Tom
Hi tzanten!
Wordpress is cropping images by default when uploading them. You can control this behavior with a plugin like: https://wordpress.org/support/view/plugin-reviews/simple-image-sizes
