I have added some custom styles for the Main Menu and for the Headers too. I have set it to be Monserrat 700 but the site is not showing the changes. I have tried clearing the cache etc. but still not working.
January 25, 2019 at 1:08 pm #1058682Hey shanhard,
Have you made sure that the weight is added to the file in order to be used?
<link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Montserrat:700" rel="stylesheet">
Best regards,
Jordan ShannonJanuary 25, 2019 at 1:09 pm #1058684I am using the default font in the Enfold theme, I haven’t added any file.
January 25, 2019 at 1:14 pm #1058697Also, when the page first loads, it shows the 700 weight for a brief second, before reverting to a thinner version of Monserrat.
January 25, 2019 at 1:17 pm #1058699Hi,
Please try adding the script I gave to the header.php file before the closing head tag.

Jordan ShannonJanuary 25, 2019 at 1:32 pm #1058710Ok that fixed it, thanks!
January 25, 2019 at 1:39 pm #1058712How do I make this a permanent change so that when I update the theme it doesn’t overwrite the addition to header.php?
January 26, 2019 at 10:41 am #1059091Hi,
Are you using a child theme? If not then I would recommend installing one since edits to all templates will be overwritten in the parent theme. I tried logging in to check your site but the login details are not working.
Best regards,
RikardJanuary 26, 2019 at 11:23 am #1059105Yes, using a child theme. Please try logging in again, I have reactivated the temp login.
January 29, 2019 at 11:05 pm #1060212Hi,
I tried the login it says it is de-active – can u please check it?
Best regards,
BasilisJanuary 30, 2019 at 10:13 am #1060408I just logged in using the temporary login that I created, works fine. Please try again.
February 1, 2019 at 1:03 pm #1061514Hi,
Thanks for that, you have active caching and file compression on the site. Please try to clear and turn that off when making edits on the site. Here a guide on when to not have active caching.

RikardFebruary 1, 2019 at 1:58 pm #1061541I want to know how I can add the modified code to my child theme, I have no idea what you’re talking about Rikard?
February 3, 2019 at 6:46 am #1062115Hi,
You have a plugin on your site called LiteSpeed Cache. That is a caching plugin and if active then that will serve cached versions of your site to visitors. If you don’t know what caching is then I would suggest that you search for it. I’m asking you to delete the cache from the plugin and leave it deactivated if you find that your code is not applying as expected.
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 3, 2019 at 10:24 am #1062165The caching plugin wasn’t added until after the site was configured, I have made no changes to it since then, and actually I have not had a problem with the cache!
My question that still remains unanswered is: How do I add Jordan’s code to my child theme so that it won’t get overwritten when I update the theme?
February 4, 2019 at 10:20 am #1062569Hi,
Ok, thanks for the clarification. If you want to add it to header.php then copy that file from the parent to the child and add the code there.

RikardFebruary 4, 2019 at 1:57 pm #1062676Great, thanks!
