I’ve recently started using the advanced layout option for a few of my blog pages. I’ve just discovered when you select a category, the archive page is now broken when it includes a blog post with an advance layout.
My categories and search, which should be in the right column, are now pushed to down to the bottom.
Example: http://insightpd.com/Category/pharma/
What it should look like: http://insightpd.com/Category/consumer-wellness/I have a few campaigns going now that use a blog page with an advanced layout as a landing page. I need to keep them under my blog section so they appear under the categories.
Is there a fix to this bug?

Could you please provide us with a temporary admin login so that we can take a closer look? You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply.
Thanks,

October 18, 2016 at 4:24 pm #700748Hi,
I’m not sure what’s going on there to the honest, could you try deactivating all plugins to see if one of them is causing a conflict please?
Thanks,
RikardOctober 19, 2016 at 6:20 pm #701460I deactivated all of the plugins and nothing helped. I’ve tried variations of the layout, and it’s definitely the ‘color section’ option that’s breaking it. Unfortunately, that’s the main function I need for these landing pages that need to live in our blog section.
I’m now testing on our dev site. Your login info still works, but please use this url to log in.
http://insightpd.staging.wpengine.com/wp-admin/ (hosted on WPengine)It’s an exact mirror of our live site. I didn’t want to test things out on the live one..
I’d really love to get this sorted as we have decent traffic to those pages and it’s a bad user experience right now.
October 20, 2016 at 8:44 am #701731Hi,
Sorry but I’m a bit confused here, how did you get Color Sections into a category page? All you content on that page are in Color Section elements.
Best regards,
RikardOctober 20, 2016 at 3:48 pm #701938Hmm. I’m not sure how to make it any clearer than the original post. The category (or archive) page is a list of all blog posts tagged with that category, correct? Some of my blog posts are using the advanced layout. When you select a category page and the blog posts are pulled and displayed, anytime there’s a blog post containing an advanced layout, it breaks the page and spans 100% and pushes my right column, which contains the categories, down to the bottom.
Essentially, I’d love it if the category pages could act like the blog landing page. Is there a way to do that? So it’s just pulling the page title and except with no images, etc? Hopefully that could be an easy fix. I’m using a child theme. I just need to ensure that the category is still highlighted when they’re on that page.
I’m including three screen shots to show what I’m talking about.
1. My blog landing page
2. A category page that does not include a blog post with an advanced layout
3. A category page that does include a blog post with an advanced layoutHow would I get the category pages to look like screen shot 1?
October 23, 2016 at 7:06 am #702897Hey!
How did you manage to show the content of the advance layout builder in the archive or category page? The shortcodes should not be displayed by default. Did you modify any of the theme files or install any plugins? We tried to access the dashboard but the login credentials are not working.
Best regards,
IsmaelOctober 24, 2016 at 3:28 pm #703306I did not modify the archive layout template. My archive pages are broken because I used the advanced layout option on the blog post.
When that blog post is pulled into and displayed on the archive page, it breaks they layout. Is there a number I can call to talk to someone? I don’t think I’m explaining this correctly as I don’t know how to make it any clearer.
Also, the login does work, I just used it. Are you using the correct link I set? I need you to use my dev site, not my live site.

Same login credentials as above. Please help. It looks really bad. This is not something I did custom. I’m using your default setup and it’s not working correctly.
As explained above, having my archive/category page display my blog posts like the blog landing page does would be an OK fix.
October 26, 2016 at 11:07 pm #704566Hello? It’s been 3 days. Can you please tell me if someone is looking into this?
I’ve purchased 4 themes form you guys and would really appreciate some help.October 27, 2016 at 6:43 am #704676Hi,
We are sorry for the late response. We understand the problem perfectly but we’re just trying to tell you that the theme doesn’t work that way by default. The archive page should not display the shortcodes so you must have done something different, a plugin or a modification, that we don’t know of. This or any info can help us solve the issue. Why do you have a loop-index.php file in the child theme? What did you modify there?
Best regards,
Ismael -
