Today while composing a new post, I am running into a problem where I make an edit and save the draft, but then when the page reloads the Advanced Layout Builder does not load. If I restore an earlier revision it can correct the issue, but then I start making changes and it happens again. There seems to be no pattern I can see — sometimes I add a hyperlink, sometimes i simply duplicate an existing element or add a new empty element. This issue has me unable to complete the post. Please help!
Thanks very much, additional details below.
I have tested:
– With all plugins disabled
– With my child theme disabled
– Deleting browser caches
– Multiple browsersWordPress 5.2.3

PHP 7.0.29September 18, 2019 at 10:38 am #1139387Hey Scott,
When trying to login I just see a WordPress notice reading Not available.
I’m not sure why that is? I tried both your link in private and /wp-admin/Sorry I saw that you included the custom login URL, details are working.
I checked the page you linked to and you are getting a 404 error on the admin-ajax.php WordPress file. What exactly did you add when this started happening? Does it make any difference if you copy all the shortcode to a new page?

September 18, 2019 at 3:07 pm #1139512If I create a new post and paste in the content from the problem post, I recreate the issue. I have included the URL for the test post, which you can edit and experiment with as much as you need.
To revert the test post to a working state, use the debug field to replace the content with an earlier version. I have included a link to a text file on Dropbox that contains this working version of the post.
From that working state, any one of these next steps has been enough to produce the bug for me:
• Duplicate the last flex column
• Add a new empty flex column
• Add a hyperlinkSeptember 24, 2019 at 3:56 am #1141186Hi,
Thank you for the update.
We get this error from the console when we try to edit the page.
HTTP404: NOT FOUND – The server has not found anything matching the requested URI (Uniform Resource Identifier).
(XHR)POST – http://www.independentpediatrician.com/wp/wp-admin/admin-ajax.phpThe admin-ajax.php file is missing or the access to it is forbidden. Please ask your hosting provider if the mod_security rule blocks the file.

IsmaelSeptember 30, 2019 at 4:17 pm #1143405If the admin-ajax.php file were missing or blocked by mod_security rule, wouldn’t this problem be happening for me all the time? But it only happens occasionally with certain posts, after I have been editing them.
October 2, 2019 at 4:56 am #1144041Hi,
Did you ask your hosting provider?
Do you have access to the apache folder in your server? The following article might help. In that article, the author noted that he sometimes had issues with editing the posts and pages, which seems to be what you’re experiencing right now, and he fixed it by disabling some of the security rules.

IsmaelOctober 2, 2019 at 3:48 pm #1144186I did contact the host, and yesterday they were able to make some changes to the security rules that solved the problem. Thank you for pointing me in that direction!
