The Advanced Layout Editor is really good, I like it!
I would like to create Blog Posts with the Editor but
-> Excerpt is not supported
-> the handling of a blog post with the ALE is like a normal page. No Comment Footer, no social Icons a.s.oIf I use the normal Editor everything works well but formatting text is a nightmare. I can use theme shortcut to insert theme specific formatted text / layout but without any visual support.
Why cannot the ALE support Blog Posts? It is supported in the normal editor but only via the theme specific shortcut insert without any visual help (modifications)
thanks

That is how it’s supposed to work, when using the layout builder for posts then you need to add everything manually to it. You can add the excerpt to the Excerpt field, if you don’t see it then please activate it under Screen Options in the top right hand corner of the screen.
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 16, 2018 at 11:30 am #913214Hey Rikard,
thank u. I found the excerpt field.I want the same look&feel and information with the ALE compared to the normal editor. Social Icon block and comment block at the end of a post is clear, not a problem. insert with ALE and it works
How can I insert the title bar like in a normal blog post? Title, Author, Count of Comments and so on…Second point. I use enlighterJS for programming code syntax highlighting. There is no integration in the ALE. Do u plan any integration? I can use the code block to insert custom <pre tags with the correct enlighter classes. This needs to much time.
Thank u
SteffenFebruary 17, 2018 at 7:15 am #913530Hi Steffen,
It can be easier for you to still make posts via default editor and use Advanced Layout Builder shortcodes via the magic wand
Then you will get all the normal stuff that comes with posts out of the box with WordPress and you can still use other elements. That kind of integration is not planned yet.
If you need further assistance please let us know.

Oh, not integration planed. :(
Please, can u integrate the enlighterJS Plugin in u’re Advance Layout Editor? That should be a very easy integration and a powerful plugin. For technical and programming articles I miss a source code syntax highlighting support. I can insert <pre … custom tags but it’s not very comfortable.
Actually, for blog posts I’m using the normal editor with the ALE shortcodes. It’s not comfortable but it works.
thank u
SteffenFebruary 19, 2018 at 7:25 am #914148Hi,
Please, can u integrate the enlighterJS Plugin in u’re Advance Layout Editor?
I’m sorry but what you’re asking is beyond the scope of support. Please feel free to request such feature at our feature request system: https://kriesi.at/support/enfold-feature-requests/
This system allows us to keep track of user suggestions and lets you vote on the feature you would like to see the most. I am afraid though there is no guarantee that a feature will get implemented. If that’s something you really need you can always try to hire a developer for the task :)
Best regards,
