    Hi:

Unable to edit the home page and some other specific pages using Avia (Advanced) Layout editor because the editor UI does not load in page edit mode. Instead we see a spinning wheel in place of the usual page creation elements.
We’ve disabled all plugins and followed the usual suggested troubleshooting steps to no effect.

Kindly help us look into getting this resolved. Details enclosed.

    Thanks and Regards.

    Hey ruskas1990,

Thanks for the login details, I see the same thing on my end. You are getting a 406 error on the file in private, could you try reaching out to your hosting provider to see if they can see why that is please?

Also please try to enable debug mode in order to see builder shortcodes, more all the content to a new page might help for instance: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/intro-to-advanced-layout-builder/#debug-mode

    Best regards,
    Rikard

The link you posted in the private is not resulting in a 406 error at our end. The link/file/page displays a simple :
    “0”

Please clarify what you want or are requesting to help resolve this.

    Hi –
Debug mode has been enabled for the child theme via (functions.php) to help you debug and hopefully fix this issue.
    Many thanks.

    Hi,

It’s not direct access to the file I’m referring to, it’s when the builder calls the file in question. It’s likely a server setting which needs to be altered, this might help for instance: https://webhostingmedia.net/http-error-406-not-acceptable/. Please try reaching out to your hosting provider with that information. You could also try to disable your security plugin to see if that is causing the call to be blocked.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

We’ve tracked down the issue to a particular slider video being pulled from youtube in the slide on the home page. Once we remove the video from the list, the editor loads/opens up correctly.

The particular section (av_slide_full ) causing the issue is pasted in the private content below for you to help diagnose and advice.
Kindly look at the code segment and advice us on what we might do to resolve or avoid this issue.
Debugging has also been enabled on the site as you advised.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

This is quite odd. It works fine whenever we reduce the number of items in the slider to 5 slides and it doesn’t matter which slide is removed. We removed the 5ths slide temporarily and keep the last one containing the video.

We also created a backup of the original slider just in case. (see private field)

    Best regards,
    Ismael

Thanks for discovering this. What solution are you proposing for this ? We wouldn’t want to restrict the number of sliders on the home page to 5 or less as a permanent solution !!

Also – are there some parameters/options that we can pass on to the video slider code to programatically restrict the size the of the video being pulled from youtube.com to make that video slide not so weirdly larger than the other image slide sizes ? Ideally we would like to make the video to be 1500 x 430 like the images – even if it means the video will be cropped on the home page.

Many Thanks again for working with is to resolve this issue!!

    Hi,

    Thank you for following up.

We copied the slider from your site to our own installation, but we couldn’t reproduce the same issue, so this is more likely related to the server. Please ask your hosting provider to increase the post_max_size from 20M to 50M.

To control the video size, try to adjust the Styling > Slideshow Settings > Slideshow Image and Video Size settings.

    Best regards,
    Ismaelw
