    Hi there

    I love Enfold! But I have a couple of issues.

    1) How do I export the theme? When I press the export theme-button I get 350.000 lines of strange text.

    2) On my localhost the admin bar has disappeared. I have searched the whole internet for a solution. As my livesite is correct, I copied the whole folder called Themes to localhost to be sure that functions.php is the same. I also copied User-table and Userneta-table to be sure that the user settings were the same. It did not help. I also tried the follow to sugestions with out effect:

    Source: http://www.wpbeginner.com/…/how-to-disable-wordpress-admin…/

    /*Disable Admin Bar for All Users Except for Administrators*/
    add_action(‘after_setup_theme’, ‘remove_admin_bar’);
    function remove_admin_bar() {

    if (!current_user_can(‘administrator’) && !is_admin()) {
    show_admin_bar(false);
    }
    }

    Source: https://digwp.com/2011/04/admin-bar-tricks/

    // show admin bar only for admins
    if (!current_user_can(‘manage_options’)) {
    add_filter(‘show_admin_bar’, ‘__return_false’);
    }
    // show admin bar only for admins and editors
    if (!current_user_can(‘edit_posts’)) {
    add_filter(‘show_admin_bar’, ‘__return_false’);
    }

    Best regards,
    Hanne

    Hey Stegemueller,
    The export file is a generated config file which contains the theme settings. You can use the config file to import the theme settings on another sever.

    Try to go to Dashboard > Users > Your Profile and under Toolbar option, “Show Toolbar when viewing site” should be checked

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hey Mike

    Thanks for your reply.

    1) Yes I am aware of the config file, and I would like to eksport from live site as a possible way to solve the problem with the missing admin bar.. But I really just get 356.804 lines like this: in a file with this name: Enfold-theme-settings-2017-5-21-3.txt Should I look somewhere else to find the eksported file?

    YToxOntzOjQ6ImF2aWEiO2E6MTU2OntzOjk6ImFuYWx5dGljcyI7YTo2OntzOjQ6InNsdWciO3M6NjoiZ29vZ2xlIjtzOjQ6Im5hbWUiO3M6MzA6Ikdvb2dsZSBBbmFseXRpY3MgVHJhY2tpbmcgQ29kZSI7czo0OiJkZXNjIjtzOjEyMjoiRW50ZXIgeW91ciBHb29nbGUgYW5hbHl0aWNzIHRyYWNraW5nIENvZGUgaGVyZS4gSXQgd2lsbCBhdXRvbWF0aWNhbGx5IGJlIGFkZGVkIHNvIGdvb2dsZSBjYW4gdHJhY2sgeW91ciB2aXNpdG9ycyBiZWhhdmlvci4i

    Try to go to Dashboard > Users > Your Profile and under Toolbar option, “Show Toolbar when viewing site” should be checked

    But the problem is I have no dashboard. Is there another way to access these informations? I would like to show a screen shot of what I see in local host, but that is not possible?

    Best regards,

    Hi,
    The export file will not solve the missing admin bar. The admin bar is in WP, not Enfold.
    As I understand the issue: you have a working site that you want to use on your localhost, in that case:
    I recommend using https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/ to make a full backup of your live site and install in on your localhost.
    What program are you using as a localhost? XAMPP? I use http://www.uwamp.com/en/ it’s light and easy.
    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike
    Thank you for answering me again.

    I wasn’t aware that the admin bar was a WP matter.

    I suddenly realize, I have probably mentioned the admin bar.wrong. But on my localhost I have nothing over the over the header image and the top menu. In the left side I miss the control panel or dashboard (I am not sure what it is called).

    Yes that is correct: I want to copy my live site blog into localhost.

    I have been looking at Duplicator, and I might try that, though I have quite good experience with moving sites with export/import database and copy files with FileZilla.

    I make full backups everyday with BackupBuddy, and it is a full backup I have running now. The only problem is the control panel and the bar in the top.

    Yes I use XAMPP which I find quite simple, so that is not the problem. But I will try your proposal UwAmp.

    What to do with the “Export theme settings”?

    Hi,

    You can Export and Import the theme settings at the Dashboard > Enfold Theme options > import/export tab.

    Hi John

    Thanks for your reply!

    You can Export and Import the theme settings at the Dashboard > Enfold Theme options > import/export tab.

    That is (off course) exactly what I do.

    I go to control panel in WP. Hit the name of my theme Enfold in the left side, go to the tab where it says Import/Export, hit the blue button named “Export Theme Settings File”. And that is what result in 350.000 lines of nonsense as a txt-file on my desktop.
    How to exports

    Best regards,

    #799303

    Hi,

    After clicking the Export Theme Settings File button, you should have a config file that you can use on another installation with the Enfold theme. Go to the same Import/Export panel then click the Import Theme Settings File to apply the theme options of the previous site to the new site.

    Best regards,

    Hi Ismael

    Thanks. I have tried many times already, but I really don’t get a config file. I get – as written earlier – a file with one line containing 357.000 characters. You can see it here. To me it does not look like a config file:

    Hi,
    Yes that is your config file, it’s encrypted.
    It is strange that you have no top bar or left side dashboard, yet you do have a login screen?
    Can you take a full screenshot of what you see right after login?

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike

    Thank you so much for your reply! You guys are so helpful!

    I have given up the site on XAMPP on my local machine. Instead I made a sub-domain: https://testblog.stegemueller.dk/ and here everything works as expected. My goal was to create a site, where I can test and make investigations. My blog is 10 years old, and it would be terrible for me, if I loos something.That is the reason, I want to test at first.Also I am very carefull with backup.

    About Enfold Theme: The file I download from live site and import into test site is OK. And I realized, that one has to select some thing else in i.e. “Where do you want to display the blog” My default is “Select page”, but just for a second. I select “Forside” = Frontpage. Then I go back to the “Select page”. And then the “Save all changes” is active, and now the Enfold shows the correct settings. It is like it has to be activated/found/accepted. Maybe this is wrong, but it works for me.

    Best regards,
    Hanne,
    Denmark.

    Hi,

    That is a correct solution and it is always better to work on a live rather than localhost, that was a good choice!

    Let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

    Best regards,
    Basilis

    #800754

    Hi Basilis

    Thank you. Great that you find, that I have made the right choice. I still don’t have so much routine with back-end, but I am learning and find it a good challenge.

    Do I in some way have to close this ticket?

    Best regards,
    Hanne

    #800811

    Hi,
    Glad we were able to help, we will close this now. Thank you for using Enfold.

    Best regards,
    Mike
