Hello,
I need to adjust the size of the main image on my website (it’s too small).
It’s in the right hand column of section with 2 columns.
I’ve tried adjusting some of the function.php code without success.
Please help?
Yours,
L
Website here: http://www.brilliantL.comNovember 16, 2016 at 6:57 am #712773Hey BrilliantL,
It looks like you have set that as a background to the container element, could you try simply adding it with and Image element instead maybe?

Awesome – thank you!
I have made the change. Now, how do I adjust the image size (it’s still quite small).
Yours,

November 16, 2016 at 5:30 pm #713073Hey!
Image is displayed in fullsize 200x300px. If you would like to display it bigger, please make sure to upload bigger version of the image :)

Thank you. I just checked the image in Media – it’s “Dimensions: 2848 × 4272”.
Here’s the URL: http://www.brilliantl.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/IMG_8292.jpg
Thoughts?

November 16, 2016 at 5:49 pm #713101Hey!
While adding your image, please make sure that you are adding it in full size (or any desired size) – http://i.imgur.com/5ANZRDgr.jpg.
If that too does not help, please create a temporary admin login and post it here privately.Regards,
YigitNovember 16, 2016 at 6:00 pm #713106Hi Yigit,
Thank you!
I have successfully adjusted the image size to “Large”, but now I’m not sure how to get it into a size between “Medium” (which is too small – 200×300) and “Large” (which is too big – 687×1030).
Is there a way to customize the size?

November 16, 2016 at 6:03 pm #713107Hi!
Images are responsive and they would actually resize automatically depending on its container width. You can use pre-defined image sizes, or use this plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-image-sizes/ to change pre-defined image sizes.
If you would like to use the plugin, please do not forget to regenerate thumbnails after adjusting sizes :)Cheers!

Great, let us know how you get on with it or if you should need any further help on the topic.

RikardNovember 25, 2016 at 9:00 am #716719Hello Again,
So, I went back, installed the plugin, and tried to modify the image sizes.
The bad news is, I still can’t figure out a way to do it. When I upload the image into a media element, it still only gives me the standard medium, large options (I have tried regenerating thumbnails, etc.).
The good news is, I have used buffers in the elements/columns to pare the images down (see also http://www.brilliantl.com/index.php/about/ for another example of this.).
Is this an OK way to adjust image size?
Or is there any easy way to do this that I’m missing?
Thanks,
L
November 28, 2016 at 4:21 pm #717852Hi,
seems that it’s working fine for you. Don’t forget to clear browser cache and hard refresh a few times after regenerating thumbnails.
Best regards,
