I’m using the Blog Avia content element on my home page and I want to use the several of the blog features that appear limited to only the blog page.

For example, the “link” feature so that our featured image and “more” link directly to outside content and not to the post. (See the top post at NetChoice.org as an example).

Or having a video show as the featured content on the home page.

Most of my users go to the home page to get our latest content and rarely click on the blog tab. So I want to achieve all the functionality of the blog page, but have it appear on the home page. I know that I can set my blog page as my home page, but I also want the headers and other features that are present.

    How can I do this?

    Thanks.

    Hey netchoice!

You can set the Blogpage as the home page in Settings > General.

    Josue,

When I set the blogpage to the same as the home page I get what you see at http://netchoice.staging.wpengine.com/ (hosted on WPengine)

What I have set in this staging is:
    Frontpage Settings
Select which page to display on your Frontpage. If left blank the Blog will be displayed
    [Homepage]
And where do you want to display the Blog?
Select which page to display as your Blog Page. If left blank no blog will be displayed
    [Homepage]

As you can see this is not correct as it is displaying all of my pages and posts.

    Hi!

When you leave the home page drop down blank it defaults to what WordPress does by default: show posts based on your index.php. When you set a home page then it works as a static page for your home page. Whatever content you have on that page will be displayed.

So if you want the blog element to display then you just add it to that page.

    Cheers!

    Devin,

Ultimately, I want to maintain all the “flare” at the top of our landing page at netchoice.org with the full blog layout directly underneath. I understand that if I just wanted the blog to be the landing page I can do that, however, I’m trying to achieve the heading and such with a full blog page directly underneath.

    Hey!

I’m not sure what’s the issue but you can create a page, do what you have to do on the top content then add the Blog Posts element beneath the main content. Set this page as home on Enfold > Frontpage Settings.

    Cheers!
    Ismael
