Hi
I’m using the Elegant layout for displaying posts and would like to add a text link below the featured image on the post detail page (where the featured image is displayed on the left and the text is on the right) – but can’t find how to do that.
Are you able to assist please?
Thanks in advance
Chris

Yes, you need to edit the includes/loop-index.php to do that.

Thanks very much for the info. I had found that the loop-index.php file was the one that controls this however I can’t get the child theme to pick up any amendments made to it. I can amend the parent theme file and see the result on the front end but when I copy the file to the /includes folder in my child theme, the amendments are not shown.
I have read many threads on this forum about the same issue however there is no definitive answer. Some threads point to a fix being a function in the child theme – but with no specifics – and others point to an amendment to another file somewhere to pick up changes the loop-index.php within a child theme – but again with no specific fix.
Could you let me know what the answer is please as I don’t want to amend files in the parent theme that may well be overwritten at a future date.
Thanks in advance
Chris
December 23, 2017 at 7:21 pm #891844Hi,
For the loop-index.php it should work in your child theme if it is in your /includes folder in the child theme.
I have just tested this on my localhost and this works, perhaps check the file & folder permissions in your child theme.
If this doesn’t help, please include admin & ftp login in the Private Content area so we can take a closer look.Best regards,

Many thanks for replying. The /includes folder is set to 755 and the loop-index file is 644. These look OK to me….?
Thanks
Chris
January 3, 2018 at 1:01 am #892652Hi,
Can you please include a admin login in the private content area so we can take a closer look. Also include FTP access. I will look at your child theme loop-index file and may apply it to your parent theme to verify the changes are working before finding why the child theme file is not applying.Best regards,
Mike -
