I have looked at this page, http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/custom-social-icons/, which discussed how to add the Houzz icon to my options for social media. I added the code shown to the custom css section, but the icon did not appear in the list. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to insert the code somewhere else? I did check and the imported font is ‘fontello,” so I did not change that. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Code should be added to Functions.php file in Appearance > Editor.
I removed your code from Quick CSS field and moved it to functions.php file. You forgot to import font set as well. I imported in Enfold theme options > Import & Export. Please review your website nowCheers!

Do you know if there is a similar way to add the Better Business Bureau logo in the header as well? :-)

Not sure if i understood you clearly. Would you like to add it as social icon? If so, i do not think it is available on Fontello.com unfortunately.
If you would like to add its logo to your header, please add widget area to your header – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/adding-a-widget-area-to-the-header/ and insert your logo using widgets :)Best regards,
