Achieving this full screen look

Hi there,

I am an amateur designer and I found Enfold by scanning a site that I thought had a nice layout. I must say this has been the most intuitive and well put together themes I have ever used.

I am wondering if anyone might be able to give some pointers on the simplest way to go about setting up the header similar to the one seen at the site below, floated down with a centered logo over a full width image with multi tiered content. I am assuming there is some custom CSS going on but am not sure the best way of going about it.
