    Hi,

We upgraded Enfold theme to 4.8.6 and now the accordion element is not showing it’s text in the backend – The toggle title shows but the toggle content doesn’t. Although the text doesn’t appear in the backend it still shows on the frontend.

    What could be causing this?

    Thanks

    Hey sasha,
Thank you for your patience and for the login, I see that you have v4.8.6.1 installed but your child theme is loading v4.8.6 please try correcting.
I found that you had the Avia Layout Builder Debugger enabled so I copied your page to my test install and the accordion content showed in the backend, please see the screenshot in the Private Content area.
please try disabling your plugins to see if that helps.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi,

Disabling all the plugins didn’t help and moving to v4.8.6.1 didn’t help either.

It’s really strange – If the content still shows in the frontend and in the debag area why isn’t it showing in the accordion toggle content? what could be causing this?

    Hi,
Try clearing your browser cache because it’s showing for me now, please see the screenshot in the Private Content area.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi,

I cleared the cache but it doesn’t help…also in your screenshot I see the frontend which works for me as well but the problem is in the backend… please see the attached screenshot.

    Hi,
Sorry, your right I “spaced it”, I tried enabling the Enfold theme you had installed, v4.8.6.1 and the backed element content showed correctly, please see the backend screenshot in the Private Content area.
So this points to one of the many customizations in your child theme, please check.

    Best regards,
    Mike

Can you point me to which of the files could be responsible for the accordion element?

    #1316820

    Hi,
I’m not sure which files in your child theme could be causing this as I’m not sure what the root cause is, so you will need to try through trial and error, removing all and then add back a little at a time. Try starting with your functions.php

    Hi,

I tried deleting all the files from the child theme and found that the problem happens when I return the style.css file. Then I tried deleting parts of the file but even when I deleted all the file’s content, except the comment at the top of the file it doesn’t solve the problem. How can this be? what else can I do?

    #1316934

    Hi,
When you delete the child theme style.css it is the same as deactivating the child theme, the line at the very top:
    Template: enfold
is what tells WordPress what parent theme to use, so if removing all of the style.css except for the top 8 lines doesn’t solve then the issue is not in that file. Did you try removing your child theme functions.php file?

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi,

I tried removing the functions.php file but it didn’t help. I removed all the files and returned them one by one. The problem happens when I return the style.css file even when it has no content (empty file with only the top comment).

Now I completely removed everything from the child theme which fixes the problem and uploaded an empty style.css with only the top comment and the problem returns.

I updated enfold to v4.8.6.2 and the problem remains.

So now I have the latest versions of WP and of Enfold, the child theme has only the style.css file with nothing but the top comment and there’s still a problem…

    Hi,
I still see that if the child theme is disabled and the Enfold theme is enabled the problem is solved, strange, I will ask the rest of the team if they have any ideas.

    Best regards,
    Mike
