Is that normal that WPML is looking for MO file in /wp-content/themes/enfold and not in the subfolder lang ?

Don’t pay attention to that unless you plan to use WPML String Translation extension to edit the translation files.

JosueHowever I am a little confused, ja.mo and ja.po are in the lang folder of the theme but with WPML all the contact text are not translated in Japanese, we use &lang=ja to select the japanese page but for example “Please prove that you are human by solving the equation” is still displayed in English, are we missing something here ?

That string is not translated yet or the ja.po file is not complete. We are relying on Enfold users to translate the theme simply because we’re not experts on other languages. Please use the Codestyling Localization plugin to be able to fetch the string and translate it.
