    Hi, Loving the theme, just built my first site! Thank you. But I’ve read little bits about a child theme, do I need to do this? As I’m new/novice? Will future updates work with the normal theme? As I’m thinking of using it for a bigger site and I don’t want to run into trouble half way through build.

    Also read about removing the made by Kriesi in the footer but i can’t find the files and directories they talk about. Sorry for simple questions! Thanks, Dave

    Hey DaveThomasCo,

    It’s always a good idea to use a child theme, but unless you have not changed anything in the theme files then you should be safe on updates. Please use a child theme next time as it will make your life a lot easier if you need to modify something in the theme.

    You can add this to the copyright field to remove the backlink:

    [nolink]

    Thanks Rikard, so in future is there process I should follow? Download theme? Create a child theme, design site?

    That is the point, you add the [nolink] nothing else to show.
    Can you please define what should be the process for what, please?
