    I’m using wpengine. I installed your theme on a staging site i had with wpengine replacing a current theme i had. After I had configured the theme and modified my site I pushed to live. I now get 502 Bad Gateway for the site. I contacted WPengine and they had me disable my plugins, still the 502 error. After replacing the theme however with twenthythirteen the site loads. As soon as I reactivate the theme I get 502 error again.

    This has something to do with the frontpage settings. If I select no homepage my site loads posts. If I select any other page it works. Something happened to my homepage but I can edit it in wordpress.

    I discovered it’s the video. I have an mp4 video that works fine on my staging environment but not on live. When I remove the video from the color section the page loads. When I re-add it the page will not.

    So the issue ended up being DNS. I was testing the site by using a host record on my local computer. WPEngine couldn’t load the video and was timing out because DNS wasn’t pointed yet to the live site. If I removed the video the site would load. Modifying public DNS resolved the issue so the video would load.
