Hello, is there a 404 page integrated in the Enfold Theme or can you help me how to make one?
June 22, 2015 at 6:32 pm #462977Hi vanderburg!
Yes, there is. You can go to this link to see 404 page – http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/asdasdoawkea

YigitJune 22, 2015 at 7:09 pm #462997Yes, nice, but that is your 404page (“Error 404 – page not found”). Not an instruction how to make a 404 page into my Enfold website.
Please try again…June 22, 2015 at 7:24 pm #463000Hey!
Your Enfold website has the same layout for 404 page. If you would like to modify it, please edit Enfold/404.php file and Enfold/includes/error404.php files.
Cheers!
YigitJune 22, 2015 at 10:11 pm #463077I do not want (yet) to modify the 404 page. I just want the page to be recognised as a 404 page. If I make a sitemap page it is not there and therefore Google doesn’t accept the sitemap for searchranking.
June 23, 2015 at 10:35 am #463233Hi!
What are you using to generate a sitemap? Could you provide us with a link to the site in question so that we can take a closer look?
Cheers!
RikardJune 23, 2015 at 12:49 pm #463313Hello Rikard. I am using Yoast SEO plugin to generate an XML sitemap and my website is yannik.nl
Hope you have a solution….

June 24, 2015 at 11:26 am #463915Hi!
please upgrade to the newest theme version Enfold v3.2.1, which should fix the issue.
Best regards,
AndyJune 25, 2015 at 2:58 pm #464572So I did. No changes. In Google Search Console regarding “Sitempas” it keeps talking about a HTTP error: 404 (General HTTP error: 404, cannot find 404″). Rather strange while Yoast SEO plugin is providing a XML sittemap….
Kind regards,
Jan
June 25, 2015 at 11:24 pm #464720Maybe I should make a separate 404 page as all other pages? If I would make such a separate 404 page, what would I have to do or change with the 404 php file in order to have that new 404 page serve as the main 404 page as in the 404 template?
Such a new 404 page would certainly show in the sitemap…(?)
Hope to hear from you.
Kind regards, Jan
June 28, 2015 at 7:47 am #465441Hi!
Why do you need to include it in the site map? It is a 404 error page, an error page.. there’s nothing useful there aside from a few redirect links to useful pages. Is there any documentation where google requires a 404 page? If there is, we surely want to know.
Cheers!
IsmaelJune 28, 2015 at 12:01 pm #465509I know, it is only a 404 page, but tell it to Google! Without a 404 page in the sitemap index Google webmastertools is not accepting the sitemap and therefore you are not profiting from double or triple traffic to your website.
It would help if I could make a 404-page myself and have it function as an errror page…
Please do try again.
Kind regards, Jan
June 30, 2015 at 10:25 am #466277Hey!
I’m sorry but I’m not aware that google requires a 404 page in the sitemap that’s why I asked if you found any documentation about it. I tried to search for this particular topic but I can’t find anything. Is it stated in the google webmaster tools to include the 404 page? I’ll ask the rest of the support team to check this thread.

IsmaelJune 30, 2015 at 11:20 am #466319I can’t find any documentation on it as well. It just shows an error (“Fout”) when you want to add your sitemap to the search system. See:
“Algemene HTTP-fout: 404 niet gevonden” translated into English: : “General HTTP-error: 404 not found”
Hope to hear again.
Kind regards, Jan
July 2, 2015 at 5:23 pm #467657Hi Jan,
This is a known issue for the Yoast team.
Possible solutions can be found and performed by following the steps here:
Along the “A 404 not found error on the sitemap” section – http://kb.yoast.com/article/123-xml-sitemap-errors
or here:
http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-yoasts-wordpress-seo-sitemap-404-error/
You might also experience the same error for up to 24 hours even after making changes to your sitemap.
