404 Unexpected redirection

I did some work on the site , added a bit of content, deleted a few images,

logged into my site today and I see there’s no logo, so i went to the theme and reuploaded the logo, no issues, it’s back,

while there I also noticed this feature,

I activated it and chose our homepage to redirect users that come from non-existing pages, simple so far, Now i notice I am getting redirected to our 404 page or https://ezmob.com/?avia_forced_reroute=1 which does display the page but why am I being redirected?

can someone please help with this?

I spoke to the guys in WPengine, which reverted to a simpler theme and got no redirects / issues so they sent me here
