Hi guys,
I just discover a small bug with the new option to set any page as 404 error page on the enfold administration panel.
I just did that and my 404 error page is this one: https://laboitenumerique.fr/404-erreur/-> This 404 error page appears well when someone try a wrong url like this: https://laboitenumerique.fr/thewrongurl
-> But when someone try a good url (eg. https://laboitenumerique.fr/la-peche/podcasts/) with a the end of this url an error (eg. https://laboitenumerique.fr/la-peche/podcasts/wrongurl) then an article of my blog is displaying instead of the 404 error page.Any idea how I can solve this? Maybe I didn’t set well something.
Cheers, and btw: amazing new version of Enfold, you are making an awesome work.

RobMay 21, 2018 at 8:57 pm #959969Hi,
Here is the message ;-)
The custom 404 works when using a link like http://robwiley.staging.wpengine.com/sfsggdfdfbf, it does not work on this one http://robwiley.staging.wpengine.com/marin-real-estate-blog/wrong/flflffl (hosted on WPengine) because it is a valid link, WordPress is able to resolve it and find content and so it ignores the rest of the text in the url.Best regards,
BasilisMay 21, 2018 at 11:09 pm #960050Actually it is not a valid link. It should go to a 404 page but instead goes to the latest blog article… as does any 404 with deep embed (www.thomashenthorne.com/basilis/basilis )
Please escalate this to the developers to fix with this weeks’ GDPR release.
Thanks
Ro

I think it is related to your plugin. It might have some sort of redirection. It works as intended on non-plugin-generated pages – http://robwiley.staging.wpengine.com/basilis/basilis (hosted on WPengine) :)
Best regards,
YigitMay 22, 2018 at 1:30 am #960078Hi,
The above page is not a plugin generated page…. you can see the same bug on the original poster’s website or at
http://www.thomashenthorne.com/yigit/yigit/yigit/yigiti/
That link should go to a 404 and it goes to our latest blog article…
This is definitely an Enfold bug…. are you guys not able to replicate it on your sites?
Best
RobMay 22, 2018 at 1:40 am #960083Hey Rob,
No, i am not able to reproduce the issue. Here is an example from demo site – https://kriesi.at/themes/enfold-elegant-portfolio/yigit/yigit/yigit/yigit/yigit
Regards,
YigitMay 22, 2018 at 2:52 am #960093The plot thickens…. but if you go to this url, no custom 404…
https://kriesi.at/themes/yigit/yigit/yigit/yigit/yigit
Bug seems to be impacted by number of sub-directories?
You have login credentials for staging site so feel free to go in and play around…
Thanks,
RobMay 22, 2018 at 2:57 am #960095I think I figured it out… if I disable Yoast plugin, the 404 functionality works fine…. so conflict….
May 22, 2018 at 3:03 am #960096Definitely Yoast… I disabled Yoast on my production site and 404 pages work beautifully…. re-activate Yoast and the bug (conflict?) comes back….
May 22, 2018 at 1:03 pm #960314Hi Rob,
I will try reproducing once again on my localhost and inform our devs.
Custom 404 page is set on this demo – https://kriesi.at/themes/enfold-elegant-portfolio/ so please test subdirectories on this demo.Best regards,
YigitMay 22, 2018 at 4:32 pm #960403See other thread… Ismael released a patch that fixes it:
