Hello
Ive been reading through the knowledge base about similar issues for others and the fixes that were suggested are not working for me. My default permalinks allows pages to view fine. When I set to postname they go away.
I dont have woocommerce WPML installed. I did have bbpress as it was suggested to install for the site. I have since disabled that and tried it again with no results.
How do I fix this?
For now I am moving ahead with building my site with the default setting to not waste time, but need your help to get me the postname to work with my site.

The best route to go is with the codex entry on permalinks here http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks#Fixing_Permalink_Problems
The theme doesn’t really have any interaction with your permalink settings except for the portfolio custom post type slug name (which defaults to portfolio-item to not cause these kinds of issues). Even with that, it shouldn’t cause any site wide 404 errors.
Most likely you need to delete and regenerate your htaccess file but it could be something more in depth depending on your install and host.
