Question. I’m getting a solid handful of Google Console warnings coming back from some of my Enfold websites. 404 errors and soft 404s to be exact.
Upon looking deeper the examples they give are address to images, tags, categories etc.
How do I prevent these topics from having pages and being indexed? and ultimately remove them from a sitemap? I only wish to have my created pages and posts exist. I don’t wish to have pages for my images, tags, categories etc. or anything else let alone have them be indexed. Thank you in advance.

Can you give us an example of a link?
Most probably you can use Yoast SEO and if there is something you do not want to get a redirect, you block it or you send a different header, example 301Best regards,

You can see the example for this particular website show tags being the soft 404 errors the first image is referring to.
I don’t wish to have landing pages for tags or anything other than pages and posts that I created. How do I prevent that let alone google indexing them?
May 1, 2018 at 9:41 pm #949703I believe I may have just cracked the code here. I figured I’d share for others..
I have Yoast SEO installed and was able to make the adjustments from within the app settings. (I checked a few times and somehow missed it)
I went to SEO>Search Appearance from the far left dark main nav bar. You then get tabs to choose what is visible in search and what’s not. For example In the “taxonomies” tab I was able to select “hide” in the show tags in search results option. There is also a show categories in search results option etc. that you can choose from yes/no.
I appreciate your help looking and I hope this helps other in the future. Thanks.
